Huawei do no need Murica, they benefit from Europe but in the grand scheme of things they can do fine with Eastern Europe and use Yandex store... V-V (Europe will if this sanctions do not end get some re branded phones and if they do not sell they might just pull out of EU...)

Probably I should ask you, why would they have to support US LTE bands to prove that they are confident about their products? Because I don't see any logical connections between those two statements.

US market is too insignifcant for China device makers. Biggest telco in China has customer numbering almost 4 TIMES america's TOTAL POPULATION. You are just a spec a dust.

Would love to see Huawei's secret ingredients, if any, whether they have any secret weapons (feature, design, price and other strategies) big or innovative enough to possibly overtake Ssmsung. If they have anything that, even without the support of Chinese citizens' patriotic purchasing decisions, could dethrone the current king.

Of course it's alive because they are selling smartphones with flagship-tier spec for much less price than a proper flagship. I'm willing to bet that even OnePlus is feeling the strain of other flagship killers, particularly Xiaomi's Redmi and Oppo's Realme.

The situation where Chinese (and some other) companies suffer in US predates the trade war. And the reason is: USA phone market is largely dominated by carriers. Without them supporting a phone with their lucrative 2 year offers, good luck selling it unlocked for huge money.
India and China don't have that model. Phones go directly from company to user, without carrier meditating the waters.
Then there's the situation where Support for Sprint and Verizon requires additional hardware inside the phone (but correct me if I'm wrong on that account though).
Then there are trust issues going both ways. Americans don't trust Chinese and Chinese companies don't trust American government.
Finally there's the size of market in these 2 countries alone.

Also, I clearly said "in my view" which meant my statement is a mere opinion, not a fact. With trade war going on, the bans and delisting of Chinese companies in US, one could expect these companies, Chinese or US alike, to be weary of making businesses with the mentioned countries.

Why else (other than software) does OnePlus have a strong foothold in the US?

Like the person you were originally replying to stated, if Chinese companies don’t make phones with US bands, how do they expect to sell anything in the US, with or without carrier support.
What data are you basing your opinion on? Has their been a survey of Chinese OEMs published somewhere that we don’t know about?
