Can't wait until these folding screens are able to be produced on a mass scale, cheaply. It might take a couple years, but there will eventually come a time when these phones will start costing below $1,000... much to be excited for. Now it's just a matter of if consumers will accept this or continue on with flat glass phones.

Looks beautlful. At least it wont break like Galaxy Fold.

The more I keep looking at these renders, the more I WANT IT! But not for $1,500.

When I got my original black RAZR V3, I got it in February 2006. And I used it exclusively without any other phone until about January 2008 once I bought a Nokia N82 as my first smartphone. Then a hand me down original iPhone in November of that same year.

I actually regretted getting the RAZR because it was no different than my Motorola V600 which I got in May 2004. It just happened to be thinner, had a small window outside, and a video recorder that my V600 lacked. But looking at these renders makes me yearn to go back to that era again.

This is just something different for this decade but something kinda the same from 15 years ago. The same and different..

                    It's the circle of life
                    And it moves us all
                    Through despair and hope
                    Through faith and love
                    'Til we find our place
                    On the path unwinding
                    In the circle
The circle of life.... back to flip phone kkkk

I hope it's a blockbuster hit for Motorola and if it is I'm sure some other Chinese brand will recreate it and sell it for much much less than that silly $1500 price tag.

That chin will be a real pain, getting in the way when using the phone horizontally and it appears to have no purpose other than to add some symmetry when closing the phone? it could have held a couple cameras to justify its existence, get rid of the notch on the screen and free even more space for the secondary screen.

Like others said, If it can use its main camera for selfish then why does the main screen need a notch?

This looks to be a lot chunkier/bulkier than the early concepts suggested and it loses much of its appeal as a result, imo.

Unfolding on every call...this won't last long

[deleted post]Read my comment once again, I said decent school I never said you didn't went to school.

Also the other person only said the phone looks ugly. You do not need to afford or buy things to figure out if it looks beautiful or ugly to ones eyes. If the product looks appealing you go ahead with the purchase, not the other way around.

Lastly, you acknowledge that Indians go to your country for studies, I am assuming you are from U.S, U.K or Europe. So my question is you say Indians have money to study abroad which costs thousands of dollars but can't afford a 1500 dollar phone ?

Dank710, 01 Nov 2019What a terrible looking phone. Original was thin and classy... moreI agree, and what really surprised me is that the thick portion was not utilized for cameras, that thickness could fit modules of a whole new level, like a 1/2.5" f/1.7 3x telephoto, or a 12-14mm equiv. UWA with less vignetting, and the secondary screen could be much bigger.
Speaking of which...I think I saw this exact design a few years ago, and said something similar...

My hope is that folding phones will take off, so that the prices of normal smartphones can drop for the rest of us :)

Design could be better, but it's as good as it can be for first generation of the product. Also, it has to be a bit thicker if you want a solid battery life.

As ingenious as the Razr is, the price is just too high. I hope the concept finds many imitators. Nokia, where are you?
