I think Google has something else planned for Wear OS. They will develop the OS to become more independant and will become a solo OS.
FitBit will become for Android what the Apple Watch is for iOs and that's a good news for everybody because anywhere in the world, FitBit challenges Apple Watch even on iOs.

Nobody "trusts" Google! Their wholesale invasion of privacy is well-known and ongoing. They will do everything they can to collect data on end-users and that data will be exploited, shared, used and abused, stolen, lost, transferred and destroyed. Lies and treachery are the policy. Avoid Google and the evil that lurks within if you possibly can.

This worries me, Fitbit's app is the best fitness tracker app I have used. Heck, from my experience of using Fitbit Inspire HR and Xiaomi Mi Band 4, the Fitbit is way more accurate than the Xiaomi when I bring it to the gym and use the treadmill.
But now that Google is acquiring Fitbit, I have two choice: Find a privacy-minded fitness tracker or make a new fake Google account... no wait, that's not going to work is it? But since I deleted and turned off all the My Activity settings, perhaps I should be alright with this.

See decline of HTC, Motorola, Nest, Looker, alongside the dwindling and cancelled projects from Google as as; AndroidWear, AndroidTV, AndroidTablets, Chromebooks, Tango, Daydream, Google+, Wave, Reader, Buzz, Talk/Allo/Duo/Messages/Hangouts, etc etc. There's a list of 200 failures, to find it just Google it ; )
The only acquisitions that Google made that were successful are Search, Adsense, Android, YouTube, Upstartle, and I don't think there's any more. Yes all of those were products Google bought. Their other successful projects were actually created in-house by their acquired talent such as; Adwords, Analytics, Chrome, Gmail, Drive, Maps, Earth, and I give credit where it's due.

They are just after the patents and after that they will sold this company again with nothing left to produce. Google is like a parasite in tech world.
