This watch's looks are a turnoff for me since it looks like a long lost inbred cousin of the Apple Watch. However, bringing a smartwatch under the Xiaomi moniker is a good idea since the brand has a wide reach and recall. Could turn out to be a nice product in the end considering their relatively consistent history of churning out good products. Pretty sure that OnePlus and Realme would be churning out respective watches under their respective brands soon.
On the other hand, I wonder what would happen to Amazfit/ Huami devices? The company is also owned by Xiaomi, IIRC. They have become quite the smartwatch specialist (the Bip was quite successful). Maybe Huami's devices would continue to run on their proprietary OS and focus on the casual user and Xiaomi's offerings would run MIUI ontop of Wear OS like this one and cater to the more advanced user.
