You cant mimic bending test by apply pressure only in the middle of the phone body and top/bottom edge. Of curse it will bend easy when you apply force only in 3 places and the most pressure gets the middle of the phone where he's thumbs are placed on the device.

[deleted post]nothing the matter with alloy mate , it is just poorly designed or cheaply made , or both.
Google has this thing where they try and make the handset as minimalist as possible , i don't know what they are thinking .

Also, as before, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL could be manufactured and/or assembled by different manufacturers. Try to avoid it, because next time you could not have as much luck.
We are talking here about the XL and its test. Anyways both have to many flaws to consider them at the price they ask. Maybe in US could sell a bit but, out there, in foreign countries no. Something we will see in months with the public report for shareholders.

And maybe xiaomi or meizu or realme where for the lowest possible price you get best possible device.

Late to the party, but it doesn't even uses the latest revision of the SoC , it has high security hardware like the iphone but it can be unlocked by other when you sleep , has a similar design to the iphone 11 but it's even worse structurally than the 6 , has a 90hz mode that you'll basically use under the sun outdoors etc. and Google ask premium high-end smartphone money for that?
It's like that slow dumb classmate that he came terribly late because he had to copy the homework and still managed to get it completely wrong.

Don't compare Pixel with Others. This Pixel totally disappointed. Google really bad for their hardware. Englishman don't show your proud on Google please.. China set is among the strongest one with Apple iPhone. Shame on Google!

As I told before (and was successfully trolled by friendly Indian trolls) - Google is quite bad in engineering. It's also bad in design. The only thing they are really good - is PR. Huge corporations are always degrading quickly because there us no competition. But lot of top managers.

Scratch test is fine but bend test?? seriously!!!!!!??? the drop test is really what I'm looking for. Whatever the pixel 4 has failed in your bend test. So those who buy this overpriced piece of junk(for its price & features) should not worry about keeping their pixel 4 in their back pocket you can get another one. Pixel 3 is still better. Wish they had just swapped the processor & increased battery capacity of pixel 3.
