Anonymous, 10 Nov 2019How would anyone buy their extremely expensive phones when ... moreI Don't know if you heard it or not. nut zenfone 6 got android 10 update and Rog Phone 2 recieved 2 updates since release.
Asus released a new UI called ZenUI 6 in these phones and will use it afterwards to be able to have better update support
also they gave out zenfone 6 to some developers for dev support.
older phones use older versions of ZenUI which are pretty heavily modified and updating them is pretty hard.
Asus changed its path. so lets give them a chance and appreciate their effort instead of criticising them for their past.

Honestly the only thing I miss from the p30 pro is the crazy almost lossless 10x hybrid zoom and the IR blaster. In fact any camera zoom as the rog 2 is severally lacking in this department. Aside from that, the speed of the rog 2's UI makes the p30 pro seem like a 2-3 year-old model or a current mid-level phone at best.

And yeah, the apple SoCs are faster but it doesn't matter coz there aren't any games to utilise them. Essentially an iphone 8 runs all the games just as well as an iphone 11. If apple release 120hz iphones next year and there are game that support it, then there will be any reason for having a powerful GPU.
As far as build quality goes, the ROG 2 is great. And I'm not saying it based on random youtube videos, but because the ROG3 replaced my P30 Pro and the huawei had worse build. And the transition from mate 20 and p30 pro to rog 2 was pretty painless. It's not that heavy. in fact it's only 30g heavier than my p30 pro. Btw, I also have an ipad pro, if you think you can use the android fanboy argument against me.
And if we have to talk about outdated OS let's talk about iOS - it's been the most unintuitive OS I've used in recent years. Even the new update to iPad OS is still hilarious not to mention the performance issues as my ipad got noticeably slower since the iPad OS 13.2 update. The only reason I keep it is for the ios exclusive games and way earlier release dates, otherwise it is totally not worth the money.
And to sum up - the rog 2 is actually pretty darn good aside from the mediocre camera performance unless you use gcam

[deleted post]What is the purpose of the toy if it breaks easily and hard to find any replacement parta because the sales support are very poor?
In my country I have seen a YouTube vid, has already been deleted, a guy who smashes his ROG Phone (1st gen) because it has a critical problem. That's under regular and careful use. What a shame on the build quality then
Airtriggers are just a damn gimmick. It can't conceal the fact this phone is too overweight of course. This phone might slip when you make calls ahahahah
Thanks, I'll rather stick to an iPhone 11 (not Pro), S10, Note 10, P30, Oneplus 7 Pro, or the cheaper Mi 9, K20 Pro. Enjoy your ugly brick that has outdated OS, poor residuals, and decent durability :)

Everybody knows... moreSorry but I'm referring to the standard, $700 iPhone 11. Yes that is still cheaper than or equivalent to the ROG Phone 2. Ignore the overpriced Pro version. The OS is better and you get timely updates. Maybe the screen is still LCD, but LCD actually contributes to better performance. The display may be capped to 60Hz, but the chipset/GPU still beats the ROG Phone 2 easily. Build quality on the iPhone (and Samsung S10/Note 10/P30 included) is still way better than the ROG. And heck who wants a OS modded by XDA Developers? They are not official devs, maybe they can install virus or but bloatware in your phone someday, the latter being stuck on Android Oreo. For calling, the phone is overweight, and I would rather use normal phones for browsing etc.
And remember the price of the accessories are so high. Would rather buy a ROG PC and emulate mobile games.

They can use it as a phone too, so 2 birds in 1 stone.

Everybody knows ROG 2 wipes the floor when it comes to gaming whether it is iPhone 11 or OnePlus. Hell it is an overall better device than both of them.
I see your iPhone can't do things Asus can, that must be sad, sitting there with a 1000$ device yet not getting features of a Gaming phone.

Gaming on a mobile phone - what a joke! Just get yourself a Switch if you want to play on the go. Even a 3DS would be better because it has hugely better library than Androjoke. What could are all those graphics when there are no games for Android apart from terrible micro transaction garbage? The only redeeming factor about Android 'gaming' are the emulators of older consoles.
PC/PS4 at home and Switch on the go. Android gaming is a joke.

Compare the benchmark tests of the iPhone and any SD 855+ powered devices. The iPhone still wins by quite a lot.
Also, my friend has an iPhone XR and for prolonged heavy gaming (ex. COD Mobile, very high settings+antialiasing) the game still runs smooth and the phone only gets a little warm.
And no one wants to handle a phone so overweight. Also, try to keep overheating your Asuck ROG Phone 2 to 55°C, the internals will eventually get damaged and the AMOLED will burn, try to wait for 2 years. Oh not to mentioned the aftersales support is very lacking.
Sorry but iPhone 11 has better performance and OS, while a OnePlus 7 Pro or cheaper Mi 9/K20 is more well-rounded, and a Note/S10 great for tasking. Only 120Hz display and its Armoury Crate stands out, but there are no gaming phones of credible quality as for now

Snapdragon 855 is more than sufficient for high end android games.
After sales support and software support is way better than apple my friend recently broke his iPhone 7's charging port instead of fixing it apple offered him a new phone but he had to pay half the price of Original Phone so how is it good service lol.
OS is good much better with stock interface and best this about this phone is it is available for 500$ in my country.
