[deleted post]Huawei's 7680 fps is heavily interpolated, as exposed by video demonstrations weeks ago, it's in fact 1920 fps. OTOH Sony's, and most others' slo-mo is read out in the frame rate as advertised.
Also judging from the softness of the video the 720P resolution in that mode may also be interpolated, which means likely 360P readout, but that's harder to verify.

Also, if someone buys 8K TV they will probably want a phone which can record in 8K too.

Huawei is just plainly bad when it comes to the video, end of discussion.

Director's View. Is Samsung gunning at Sony's Xperia 1 and 5?

Just label useful features as gimmick coz your Toy phone can't do it.

Shame on you samsung. you are so lucky huawei is banned from working with us-brands and mainly google.

Samsung needs to have a Log Profile to complement its 10-bit video prowess. And multiple bitrate options in h.264 and h.265.

Yeah head and shoulders above rest of the pack.

And 8k could be useful since we already have 8k tv, no everyone has it but in the future where 8k tv is common then you would appreciate that we have 8k recording since years ago. Galaxy S6 got 4k recording, it was practically useless at that time, but look now.

8k would downres perfectly to 4k increasing the information per pixel, reducing the noise (especially after a little noise reduction), having more colour information and having a greater theoretical bit depth. 8k video downressed on a smartphone to 4k, could be almost as good as 4k from a much larger sensor ILC. Also, Samsung should explore the possibility of having f1.0 and f2.0 as the fstop on the biggest sensors, to ensure that they get enough light to be able to compete wi th much larger sensor.

While I am not a fan of 8k, but the truth is that a smartphone's 4k doesn't even have the actual detail or quality of good ILC 1080p. So 8k, hopefully solves some of the issues with less detail and quality. Samsung also needs to improve its video quality (especially dynamic range) to beat the one on the iPhone 11. I find the dynamic range in that absolutely path breaking. The photo quality is as good as any of the top flagships and the colours are terribly saturated and inaccurate. But, in the video department, the iPhone 11 is heads and shoulders above the completion. Samsung should target beating the iPhone 11 for video.

The 8k could also be brilliant for capturing wildlife fast moving subject, especially if Samsung allows for manually controlling of shutter speed and other things. I hope Samsung can have 8k HDR video, combining dual exposure per frame for much better dynamic range. Plus they need that White Quad Pixel for improved low light.

I know a way to completely surpass the limitation of the Bayer Pattern. I could share it with Samsung if they truly want to be beyond the competition.
