Most OEMs should have patched it by now, though.

This is all well and good but wouldn't it be just safer to limit one's uploaded data speed to say 1kb/s or something so that video uploading without your specific permission is impossible?

That's were retractable selfy cams are handy. Moreover, the fact that some users are using them without noticing any weird behavior helps others people to know that the popular app are mostly clean in this regard.

If you guys would bother reading the whole article, you'd find out that the exploit has been patched on most devices. If your phone receives security updates regularly, then there's no reason for you to be concerned about it.

Also, if you're that worried, then just turn off internet from your phone. Your phone will be virtually unhackable.

That said, I am getting the smaller 950 to replace it as I'll be using the 950 XL for LumiaWoA project, which is basically flashing full-on legit Windows 10 ARM into it and dual-boot it with W10M.

But I was a former Android user before switching to Windows 10 Mobile (W10M) some three years ago to this day and being a former LineageOS user, the W10M's Privacy setting is definitely feels like home. Everything that I expect from LineageOS's Privacy Guard feature is all there. Heck, the ability to completely switch off any app from running on background, which I did use in LineageOS, is also present in W10M. That have won me over!

Definitely never regretting that decision to switch, even to this day.
