04 December 2019
Expect to see it in all flagship Android devices that aren't made by Samsung and Huawei.

Speed is the same, I mean the apps open and close with the same speed.
The operating system is also fast on my phone. I don't "need" a 5G at the moment.
An upgrade that would make sense, would be a SnapDragon 875 phone.
Any problems with battery capacities and charging speeds would clear up by that time.
Cameras also will get so much better, I see they are at the right direction.
Screen technology also at its best. I guess by that time everybody would use OLED with 4K resolution.
Patience one more year. As I said, they are at the right direction. Whoever fails at this point to not have the above technology, well..... good luck.
Experimentation is over, we know what we want/like.

      Anonymous, 05 Dec 2019855+ gpu was 15% more than 855 865 gpu is 20% more . . ... moreSD855+ is overclocked. it's 700mHz compared to the vanilla 855's 600mHz.
But SD865's GPU frequency is the same as the vanilla 855. So if you overclock it, you could get %35-%40 improvement compared to the vanilla 855.

XiaoMEH FANbui, 05 Dec 2019i hope ROG phone 3 come with 865+ just when im very closed ... moreI doubt there will be a Snapdragon 865+ as the next logical step would be to have Snapdragon 875 on a 5nm process.

25% faster in controlled laboratory tests AKA ~10% faster in real life AKA people who bought their Snapdragon 855 devices this year don't have to regret their purchase

I have a SD835 and it's fast. An upgrade is not necessary. Also camera after 3 generations are not significantly better.
I would say that one has to wait 4-5 years before any upgrade. Then the upgrade would make sense and be noticeable.

I'mPhone, 05 Dec 2019Will there be a 4G version of the Sd865?Both avaliable but 5g need it own modern to use 5g.

apple would advertise it as 200% more power! 400% better battery!

SD 855+ was just an overclocked SD 855, with the same cores.

You Know 12*16 = 192, That is if you use Quad Pixel Super Sampling on a Quad Bayer 192 MP Camera Sensor, You'd end up with 12 MP shops, super detailed and... Probably Excellent. Just Saying. Maybe they thought about it.

                            SD865+ is the real version

i hope ROG phone 3 come with 865+ just when im very closed on buying meself an ROG phone this crap came up.....damn you Qualcomm.....

I don't really notice any notable gains switching from an 820 to 835 to 845. The latter two do have louder audio for Bluetooth wireless and the file transfers are faster since my LG G5 is still on emmc. But that's it, really. An 820 chip can still be great to use close to its 4-year birthday. It aged similar to Apple A9 chip the 6s and SE had.

It's a reason why I can live with the new Motorola Razr's 2018 mid-range SoC even in 2020. I just can't see myself paying $1500 for it. Under $400-$500 would be reasonable. The Pixel 3a has the 670 which is a little faster than the og Pixel's 821. That's why I'm totally fine with the Razr's 710 is slightly faster that that which is why it should be priced close to the 3a is.

My MacBook Air has an Intel i5 which is slower than my Essential Phone's Snapdragon 835 and Pixel 3's Snapdragon 845 and I'm totally fine with it after over 3 years. We get to a point with an SoC that we won't really notice any gains until after 5 years or so. Happened to laptops. Nobody really updates them every 1-2 years like phones.

So from cpu side, I don't think it would be much difference

Here's hoping smartphone manufacturers up the hardware and software spec of their flagships..

Let's be honest, I'm still struggling to see the real-world difference between the 855+ and the 855 in terms of speed. Heck, the 845 from December 2017 is still going strong despite its age.

Really, it's just the little details like the ISP and the Bluetooth version that the vast majority of people couldn't really care less.
