From reading gasmarena articles, it seems many people are not happy with ICS and indeed it may not be worthwhile to update if you just update to a pile of problems. Dont worry about any availability of ICS not being for some time. Better Sony gets it right first time and not with the problems people are experiencing with Samsung. Far better to keep to any stable os for that matter.

"Maybe you will prefer the new UI in ICS, or do you give a higher priority to the extreme stability of the Gingerbread platform?" I recommend reading this http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2012/03/30/learn-about-the-technical-differences-between-gingerbread-and-ics/

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2012That happens when you get an Android device...Indeed so... this is why Apple are able to update their phones so fast & efficiently. Single hardware, single software. With Android got to make sure that it works with the varying different hardwares. Oh and i'm an Android user.

I'm not surprise considering that all the Ericsson share were being bought by Sony, meaning a new management set are still in the process and may cause some setback on the phone development.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2012Stop crying, no one forced you to upgrade to ICS your GS2. ... moreLPQ is so full of fatal bugs that it is almost unusable, it have almost all the bugs that any smartphone have ever had, lag and batterydrain and frezes and..., so I think Sony will have a stable ICS before Samsung have a stable ICS ready for S2!
I have upgraded back to official GB, ki8, on my S2!

Stan, 31 Mar 2012Hmm... Are you kidding me? Samsung announced their Samsung ... moreWell stan have you looked at the X10 that was released in 2010 and had THREE MAJOR updates since then?? And also Samsung relased buggy updates to both the GSII and the Nexus and also the Galaxy Nexus and then ended up pulling each one due to issue and bugs. At least Sony has stuck with every single droid they released last year and yes they are taking a little longer then most but at least they ARE bringing ICS to all of thier recent phones

                  BTW proud owner of 2 x Xperia S + 1 Arc

AnonD-252, 31 Mar 2012Good Sony! It is better to be a few months late and deliver... moreStop crying, no one forced you to upgrade to ICS your GS2. And Sammy won't stop their roms development to "that" update only, if you are used to Samsung products, they push new roms let's say every 2-3 months via Kies for all their phones, so your current bugs will surely disappear on next GS2 Kies rom.

Good Sony! It is better to be a few months late and deliver a bugfree ICS-upgrade! I wish Samsung would have done the same and properly tested their ICS-upgrade for S2 before they released it!
Developers of apps and games need more time to make their apps and games fully compatible with ICS, because today most apps and games have big stability and batterydrain and... problems on ICS!

I think some of u are crayzy.which manufacture roll out ICE cream except only I9100.?Lg ?motorolla? Or all samsung or all htc 2011 owners? Dont u think that sony could do this like bugy galaxy s2 sooner? Or just upgrade 2or 3 of its high end and leave others damnly value pack? Be honest .sony wanted to roll out and respect all of its 2011 models and upgarade phones with out bug like other manufactures. Even in late may ,it s sooner that many lg,motorola, htc and samsung models. I wish u best sony.

Hmm... Are you kidding me? Samsung announced their Samsung galaxy s 1 way back in feb. of 2010.. and since then it has received two MAJOR updates and is also planned to receive a Value pack update in the next couple of months... Saying that atleast Sony is updating their 2011 lineup to ICS is not a very justifying argument.. even more since many xperia users have faced bugs in their updates..

Omg the neo and the ray! Why these befor the "Flagship" phone the arc? Sony we want updates and we want them on time dont tell us end of March beginning of April then tell us the day befor it's gunna be more like June! They should had kept us updated. And to the people out there who say "I'd rather wait and make sure they get it right" ive had my arc for a year now and it's still buggy if not worse than be for since my first update when I charge my phone and touch the screen it go's nuts! I want ICS and I want it now lol

                                        Simple Reason:
Now the Xperia 2012 series has been top priority for Sony to give ICS update on it. It seems certain that 2012 Xperia series might get ICS earlier than announced!!
