Some android fanboys are very petty. And the hypocracy is that no one ever mentions how samsung blatantly copied android with bada o.s. Anyway everyone copies so deal with it. As for me I was sure I would dump android when 808 comes out. Now, I know that I will jump off a building if I have to just to get the 808:)

Omar Mohamed, 31 Mar 2012Ohh! come on Nokia, 640x360 again???640 x360 is just fine. People with iPhone 4(S)s drop jaw at the display on my N8. Movies look awesome, HD games look great. So what's the problem? No bragging rights? Why not just enjoy the lower gpu load and lower drain on the battery?

Good to see Nokia still supporting the old Symbian OS. But sad to see that the previous phones won't get them. But then I might be expecting too much.

The least I hope for is a fix for the Belle and further upgrades for my Meego N9.

You cannot compare them to iOS or An... moreSymbian which has lasted and survived for more than a decade now is clearly a testament that it is not a failure. It was actually Windows Phone which is an epic fail and such a big shame that even a dying OS continues to outsell it even up to this day. And no, Nokia never begged for Microsoft to use the latter's software. It was Microsoft that sent a trojan horse in the name of Stephen Elop to infiltrate Nokia to be able to promote and push their flop OS to the mainstream market. Microsoft actually paid, or should I say, bribe, Nokia a whooping 1 billion dollars for Nokia to use MS' software.

peeps slow down even if the n8 , e7 etc dont get the update offically we still have the modding scene

the n8 and e7 etc cant be expected to run every bit of a new o/s they have been supported very well and evolved quite far in 18 months already and come october the n8 will be 2 years old and is limited by its cpu and ram allowance

however this doesnt mean that parts of the firmware wont be extracted and put into custom roms like we see at the minute with bits of s3 making it to s60 5th edition etc etc

the older phones wont run the whole offical update but you can bet your bottom dollar parts will be ported from carla to them

lets just enjoy our phones wether it be android , ios or symbian all of them offer us something and its nice to have choice in the market just because i chose symbian doesnt mean its the best , it just meand i like it and it suits my needs ive used ios and android and i hate some things about symbian but love other bits too

why do we always have to row and bicker about phones being better then others and old phones not getting updates nearly 2 years after release

lets just enjoy what we have because i bet some people wish they could afford a mobile let alone a smartphone of any kind

                                    peace out

it is funny that a lot of people owning older models expect too much for software updates even if Nokia had already provided them of about 5-6 updates. Anyway, this problem is brought by Nokia themselves: their phones truly stand the test of times that even an owner of an N97 still asks for upgrades because his device is still working normally...

Nokia is sinking ship. You cannot compare them to iOS or Android which are far superior. They had to beg MS to use Windows 7 because Symbian is an epic fail.
