Also, stop glorifying AI and HDR+ - those are just for commoners who only post photos on social media sites, particularly Instagram.

      Very fantastic phone.

iAmKorg, 06 Dec 2019I guess you’re not smart enough to realize that this phone ... moreOh, c'mon.
No smartphone is "meant for niche market" (with small exceptions such Vertu).
These're mass-market products. Nokia is mass-market maker, and Nokia 9 PV was made as a mass-market product with certain more advanced features. And it's a failure. It'd be a success if N9PV had good "auto" mode PLUS handful of more advanced features, allowing experienced photographer to squeeze even more juice. Good "auto" mode doesn't mean it's impossible to implement great deal of manual controls and such.

Nokia made a great promise and failed to deliver.

PS. There's no reason to be rude, even if you don't agree with other people's opinions.

Let's see how the camera would fair up with this new Android 10 update.

First of all you have no ideea how software is done, compiled and build. If you think that Huaway edits it's interface for each and evey device they release, or for each update, you gatta be very, very unknowing, even a child would punch more logic then you, no offense, but ignorance oh so makes me angry....so bad that the gsmarena knows me.

iAmKorg, 06 Dec 2019People who know how to properly utilize the camera system a... moreNope. I used to take photos in RAW with it, like I used to do with my previous S7 edge. The Nokia 9 PureView I had, every time I've used its camera app, the Pro Mode simply ignored any value I wanted to adjust for ISO, exposure time and whatsoever - actually, I realize the phone was taking those photos with automatic values instead. I reached Nokia, I've sent my phone to them reporting that issue and some other too - Nokia's response was that every was working fine - LOL - of course not, even Adaptative Battery turned ON the poor 3-4 hours of SoT was ridiculous! And there's one thing: I'm not a basic Android user. I've modified my old S7 edge in several ways: I've modified its camera libraries to increase the maximum exposure time value to 20 seconds (very great photo quality at night and even in the dark thanks to shooting in RAW with those 20 seconds of exposure time with a tripod) and I've duplicated all the bitrates for every video resolutions, changed its Kernel and created performance profiles (day-to-day usage, econ, gaming and benchmarks), updated its GPU driver (like it will be now possible with the brand new Snapdragon 865), I've put S9's Dolby Atmos working with Dual-Speaker MOD, and so on.

So am I idiot? Do you know at least how to root your phone? If my Nokia 9 PureView's Penta-Sensor with Light's technology was placebo when shooting in darker environments is like it had some kind of issue BUT NOKIA DIDN'T RECOGNIZED THAT PHONE'S PROBLEM - however, the 3D ToF sensor was working fine.

iAmKorg, 06 Dec 2019People who know how to properly utilize the camera system a... morefailure is failure, accept it. If people want to take a portrait using raw, or manual, they will go get a dslr or mirrorless. Only people who couldnt afford dslr/mirrorless play manual or raw with a phone. Nokia is also idiotic if they want most people to take a photo manually, most people will go auto in their cameraphone. Look at iphone, not only auto, but also advance AI do the job for taking picture using "Deep Fusion", and they are praised for the result. Look at google HDR+ algorithm. Nokia is a failure for not understanding the market!

AnonD-676442, 05 Dec 2019I bought this failphone and then I sold it 2 weeks after fo... morePeople who know how to properly utilize the camera system and know how to get the most out of all the raw data taken in the photos know the camera is great.

People who want easy right out of the box will get phones like the P30 Pro, S10, Note 10, iPhone 11/Pro, etc. All the processing is done for them. No real work is needed. And that’s fine.

But this phone’s camera is for those who do their own photo editing, who want to put their own artistic identity on their photography.

To call this phone “failphone” is beyond idiotic. It shows you aren’t smart enough to know how to properly use the camera.

Meh, at night those cameras fails so only works half of the day and the rest of the phone is forgettable too. Another big fail. The new Nokia 2.3 is another joke of phone for its price. Typical HMD overpriced crap.

I bought this failphone and then I sold it 2 weeks after for having a placebo camera technology for night photography and such a poor battery life (not to mention its AM-quality "loud"speaker).

So, I've replaced it with a proper cameraphone from Huawei, the P30 Pro - much (much, much, much. . .) better at night photography and excellent battery life allowing for 8-12 hours SoT (while Nokia's was 3-4 hours SoT - even a bit less than my 3 years old Samsung Galaxy S7 edge?!). And this shame from Nokia does NOT end here. . .

. . .It is truly ironic my P30 Pro receiving the stable Android 10 update EARLIER than Nokia's stock Android One!

                                  LOL

Wouldn't be normal to happen in the opposite way? Because it takes more time to OEMs to develop a custom skin to apply on top of Google's stock Android.

In the past, Nokia was a brand of such an excellence quality and design. I had several phones from them - one of them still works, like my Nokia 6630! But. . .Nowadays, they're just a clumsy brand.

I'm a photographer and the camera is amazing, the fingerprint reader simply doesn't work so don't bother with it, I hope that the update improves the performance, there is only one reason to buy this phone and that's the insane camera

Still no sign of Nokia 9.1 with penta cams all set at 108 Mpix and tripple front cameras with 108 Mpix each.
