I called you narrow-minded because you have a tunnel-vision on smartphone industry. IF you actually checked Sony's sensor catalogs (as an example), you would see that most of sensors there weren't only for smartphones. Sensor tech will advance whether smartphone industry would use those sensors or not. There were still action cams, dash cams, CCTV, dedicated cameras, and specialized industries that helps develop these sensors. In fact, the QUAD-BAYER sensor tech is ONE of the advancements that started in CCTV implementations and NOT with smartphones. The main problem here is NOT the use of Quad-Bayer Sensor instead of 1.4um, the problem is your mindset and the insistence to use the 1.4um over and over, that's NOT advancement, that's stale development. You want development and innovation? They've given you Quad-Bayers and your first reaction is what? Resistance? LOL.
