- it's 5 or 6 dollars soc
- modem size will multiply cost by 2
- heating problem on 5g modem will force to use 7nm process and raise costs even more.
- little cores won't be enough to take advantage of 5g bandwidth.
You can see Qualcomm entry 5g is SD765...
I think it will be the same about Mediatek.

Ok..
- Dimensity 1000 (the one with clock speed of 2.6Ghz) reached 500K... and being unoptimized
- Dimensity 1000L (this one with clock speed of 2.2 Ghz) got 380 K... but being UNOPTIMIZED, if it got optimized, it could get up to 420K, which is insane
- Then there is the MT6873, which is easily an Helio P or G. And it might have an ARM A76 core.
- And then there is the new Low tier Helio A Series with 5G.

An other one was benchmarked, mt6885...far higher than SD765
An other one is rumored, mt6883...downclocked version mt6885
The weakest one rumored is mt6873...with 4 Cortex A76, 4 Cortex A55 and Mali G57mc5...this one will probably be as powerfull as SD765.
Entry level 5G won't be the same...ultra-high bandwidth would be useless on the entry-level quad core A53 we have yet

Mt6889 (the only official one), 6885 (the one of this article) and 6883...all of these use Cortex A77...
And the weaker one is mt6873, this one use Cortex A76 and Mali G57mc5... in my opinion, this one should reach 300.000 points on Antutu v8
...SD765G level!

Come on Guys Mediatek is a great alternative chipset for midrange and entry level smartphones. My Samsung A10s equipped with Mediatek p23 works great. With the help of the Software optimization almost all chips will process the same way as the others so we should not discriminate Mediatek. Phones will be expensive if we adopt Qualcomm all the time.

So Snapdragon is the clear winner.They may not be the Greatest chip out there but the thing is, Mediatek is still popular on manufacturing midrange chip to flagship like performance chip. I know Qualcomm is the best but Mediatek is a great alternative.

why are people acting like the mediate chips will get no updates or the Samsung chips suck? They all use ARM / TSMC's architecture don't they? isn't the advantage of that, that all chips will process information the same way and therefore programming for one works almost the same for every other chip with the same architecture? Doesn't that mean that updates for a mediatek chip will only need to be tweaked a little to be installed on an Exynos or Kirin phone?
