Redmi K30 actually has two punch holes on its display

12 December 2019
The space between the two selfie cameras is masked through software to display a black bar by default.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2019I love you Xiaomi ever since you're starting but I think th... moreActually this is not a definitive downgrade,

Redmi K20 is just the branding from Mi 9T, Mi series have better build design and spec than Redmi, so Redmi just change the brand NOT originally designed by Redmi Team since Redmi has it's own team (Redmi is now a sub-brand with their indepedency but still co-op with Xiaomi, and Redmi is for mid to low range market while Xiaomi for mid to high market)

So the Redmi K30 is the first phone originally design by Redmi Team for mid to low market, especially for 5G volume market

Complaining about K30 downgrade is Not Fair anyway since who design and build K20 and K30 is different eventough they are still in Xiaomi Group

      Eeww.. long live k20 design

s-pen pusher, 13 Dec 2019yes. i do alot of sketching and drawing on the go as an art... moreThis is intentional! Samsung's AMOLEDs have built in blue light filters that improve over time. This is for your own good so you can sleep well. You should thank them instead of complaining!
By the way, I'm being sarcastic here.

I hate punchholes, it's like a notch but worse.

Steve, 12 Dec 2019Two separate holes looks better than masking the middleIt looks way more ugly

IDK who ever thought that punch holes are better than notches. A punch hole wastes double the space than a notch because the space between the corners and the holes is as much wasted as the area taken by the hole itself.

Maybe if people stopped crying every time they see a notch (even as small as dewdrop) OEMs wouldn't come with these ridiculous ideas.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2019Acurrate colors = Pocophone display lol!pocophone f1 may not have the sharpness of QHD or 4K displays, but as far as color accuracy, the pocophone f1 was industry leading. well, there were other issues with the display, especially on the earlier batches, like ghost touch and backlight bleed. the pocophone f1 really was one of the best smartphones ever not just for its price, but likewise for some features.

Thankfully the large pill can be reduced to two small holes. Any reduction in "dead" pixels is good. I still hope a pro version will offer pop-up instead. Or under display.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2019Acurrate colors = Pocophone display lol!Yes, Pocophone does indeed offer accurate colors. Measurements below from their best (most accurate) image setting.

Pocophone - average DeltaE of 0.9
Iphone 11 pro - average deltaE of 1.6
Redmi K20 Pro - average deltaE of 2.4
SG Note10+ - dE is 2.4 with maximum deviation of 3.4

In case you don't know, lower is better, and Pocophone is the clear winner. Measurements by gsmarena.

Poco and Note10+ have an average of 5 (Poco) and 5.1 (Note10+) out of the box.
In other words, out of the box many phones have unnatural colors - likely to look more punchy whilst display in the stores - but luckily better modes are available.

I much prefer AMOLED than a 120hz LCD display.
The SDM730G cant even support 120hz display much in the first place.

90 hz rr was good enough
they should use amoled with 90 hz instead of 120 hz rr with lcd 💔

Why can't they keep some bezel at the top part (not too thick) and house a couple of cameras, bunch of sensors and front firing speakers. Also useful during gaming.
