Ah finally, a company that will give us a decently sized sensor for the telephoto lens!
Hopefully other companies follow Samsung's path instead of simply widening the aperture or increasing the focal length like they always have been.

A quad bayer telephoto? We've never seen it before.

      Great to hear!
You know Samsung is really being serious when the telephoto sensor of their upcoming flagship is superior to the main camera of their competitors like Google and Apple.

Here's to my wish that they'd nail the right processing software for this setup.

        Can't wait

        The beast is coming

          Samsung isn't playing

B0B, 19 Dec 2019lol that's stupid. Those telephoto lenses don't really get ... moreIt is the 1/2" sensor.

That's a quad-bayer sensor, so you'll end up with 12MP images just like current telephoto cameras. The improvement will come in low-light scenarios.

I just hope it's a periscope zoom sensor with at least 5x native zoom, otherwise it won't be worth it.

LOL, 19 Dec 2019They (not just Samsung) removed the headphone jack so you c... moreI grew up with Apple flagships. By that logic, I only see Flagships, not some plebian midrange phones; Flagships only matter.

I got a RoG Phone II which can do a lot of things and it even has two USB-C ports to give inspiration for jackless flagships to get 2 USB-C instead of 1 because I still charge and listen to the headphones at the same time.

Anyways, if my ATH-M50x dies, I'd get one of those Aftershokz bone conduction headphones or some bluetooth headset that meets my demands so I can play Osu! just as great as wired headphone users.

I said something to that effect not days ago as a joke!!! And now they went ahead and did it...haha

Now if only the other part of joke would also become a reality - a 64 MP ultra-wide and then the magapixel race 2.0 would really fly off!

lol that's stupid. Those telephoto lenses don't really get enough light anyway. You can probably only take a 48MP photo of the sun with this

                      It's not a technical decision, but a financial/marketing one.

No hard feelings, it's just business. If you really want a headphone jack, buy one of those crappy midrange phones. Usually they'll have it. The poor people from developing countries can't live without it. Same goes for FM radio.

If removing a headphone jack means they'll have more clearance space for bigger sensors then at least it ain't HTC where it's a poor use of space. I just wish all bluetooth headphone companies are mandated to use USB-C, all aptX codecs included, Bluetooth 5.0/5.1 compliant and more. I want an over-ear headphone that is as punchy as the wired counterpart and doesn't ruin gameplay audio with noticeable delay.

I even heard of a wireless headphone with solar charging capabilities so you lazy heads will not have excuses.

                          Blimey, beasts!

2020 is going to see some very exciting camera sensors a d some very exciting zoom ranges in smartphone cameras.
