AnonD-44227, 08 Apr 2012you're confused... unless you're talking about the US marke... moreActually no, the US was the biggest smartphone market until this year. China just recently surpassed the US market in smartphone adoption; however, china smartphone market isn't owned by Nokia but rather Samsung and Apple. In china, people are willing to pay a monthly fee just to add a signature to text messages saying "sent from Iphone". This shows you the brand power of Apple.

I'm sorry. I have an n8 and I was cool with belle but today I tasted a lumina windows phone and it made me feel that belle is a toy software. I liked it better than android too. It is very well made.

Nav, 07 Apr 2012I would rather buy an SLR Camera than to buy this phone.Absolutely agree with you! and so, you put your DSLR on to your head to talk to some one and then stick it on the front window ad use it as free gps. And then... back to record birthday party of your kid or girlfriend... common, thing rationally man...

still, the 41mp moniker ~sounds~ fake.

I have been using Nokia N82 S60V3FP1 all these 5 years ever since, together with Nokia SU-8W as a business tool, hooking it up to a TV on hotels during extended trips abroad whenever I don't have a laptop. Switching app focus using the task manager is a breeze, never hang on me. Battery life is also excellent on par with smartphones.

It's both a multimedia and business tool powerhouse for me.

Nokia simply works for me, and that is not even Nokia Belle. So. What. Is. Your. Point? :-)

                        [deleted post]Serious question ...

When did Symbian get proper multitasking?
Proper multitasking being when two applications use the UI at once. Was it 6 years ago?

Dave, 07 Apr 2012LMAO you guys. Ok the Nokia 808 is out end of May. Rumo... moreSales have little to do with how good phones are. Look at the iPhone for example, marketing for one thing does wonders.
It's really about personal preference though.

even though Symbian supports multitasking doesn't it still have the constraint where only one application can access to the UI at a time?

It is a good point though that everyone buys the phone that meets their needs. I certainly don't need all the stuff you listed but I do need other stuff not listed.

It has been about 9 years since I purchased a Symbian phone and it has one feature that I still use it for, portable alarm clock :)
(it's permanently on flight mode, just an alarm clock)
Note, Android is bad at being an alarm clock because it unlocks the screen and allows you to mess things up turning on snooze in your sleep/half sleep. Symbian rulz as an alarm clock.
