AnonD-41399, 08 Apr 2012i have a feeling non-nokia users in the world had sometime ... moreCrab what?

I had a Nokia phone and it lasted 10 months and Nokia service centre said it had water damage due to humidity (the city I purchased it in was humid, that is also where the service centre was).
Everyone will have a different story but it's a lot of money to spend to trust poor quality and appalling customer service.

The service centre even said it was really common, yet they sold phones there and really the city is not as humid as other cities I have lived in. The phone actually had been to the service centre twice before with problems so they were obviously just looking for an excuse not to replace or fix it.

Nokia for me is not an ethical company (not sure if that makes them a whale).

Nav, 07 Apr 2012I would rather buy an SLR Camera than to buy this phone.so check your mails, call everywhere, send sms, browse internet, play games with your SLR camera. what we see here is the power of smartphone that can shot comparably with an SLR, upload to social sites, and can do a lot more.

i dont understand why many guys complain about symbian.i use a galaxy ace and my sister has a 700 which runs on symbian belle the u.i is better than touchwiz on my galaxy ace, also is very fast,no stutter like droid ,especially while multitasking
Nokis belle and s60 symbian is as different as chalk and cheese.also they introduce full html5 experience on next update.

dave, 07 Apr 2012Multitasking, HD video and Screen, far superior build quali... moreFor your info Symbian has full multitasking not a virtual one compared to Android or iOS.

Nokia 808 captures 1080p video recording. Does your iPhone or S2 has more than that?

I will accept that the screen is behind in terms of pixel density and pixel density only. Its an AMOLED for heavens Sake...

Don't even joke about apple having superior build quality compared to Nokia. Nokia phone are the most durable and reliable in the market.

You haven't used Belle if you say that iOS and Android are better. I would say that iOS lacks many things, has too many restrictions. Android is not very optimized to use the provided processing power. Belle is a steady improvement from S^3 and has the best of both worlds.

Apps...This is one point where i will concede that the app store and market has more apps compared to Nokia Store...

As you can see your points are entirely moot...

I just don't understand why people are loving the iPhones and the Android devices. Nokia 808 has got full pack and full force of specs and features. From NFC to FM transmitter, to HDMI to the Camera. I mean wow. What the hell?? Nokia 808 is the ultimate device. People go crazy with the paid Cydia and Android tweaks but hell, those tweaks are standard features of Nokia/Symbian phones already. Long Live Nokia!!

dave, 07 Apr 2012Multitasking, HD video and Screen, far superior build quali... moreHey, Dave... Enough has been answered to you by many others. Especially, Steelicon has given you the clear description. Can you face him! I bet you can't.

You say Nokia doesn't have multitasking! Are you an Allion, don't you belong to this earth, don't you know how to use a smart phone? I think you are an expert in using a black and white mobile.

Nokia was the first company to introduce multitasking in mobiles. Nokia has been releasing Symbian phones since 2002. All Symbian Os phones have multitasting! If you want to minimize an App, just long press Menu button for 2seconds. The then App will be minimized and shows which Apps were minimized. You can select anyone or directly close one by one. If you want to close an App, just press the key 'C' Your Underware, sorry your Android can't do it. ha ha ha

It was in the first quarter of 2002, that Nokia 7650 came out with symbian Os. You may argue saying that you hadn't heard such model in Nokia. But see it in the last page of Nokia mobiles. Otherwise here is another popular model, Nokia 6600 (released in 2003) which was sold like hot cakes though it's price was above 30,000 rupees.
For the remaining two, which you said lack in Nokia, i.e. Hd screene and Superior built quality, Steelicon had answered. Better get a zerox copy of his reply and paste it in your room. Beat your head with a Nokia mobile, your head may bleed but nothing happens to the Nokia mobile. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

i have a feeling non-nokia users in the world had sometime in their lives have used a nokia phone. And i wonder why they talk about symbian every hour here in gsm arena and yet consider the os dead? Is symbian's presence that attention catching? It's nokia os now guys. Maybe if you wont use symbian, and rather use 'nokia' you'll feel a little bit not jealous about the developments nokia is having. Then you dont look like a crab pulling a whale down.

However Symbian is ancient and difficult to use smoothly especially when data starts filling its memory with constant lags, stutters etc . If it is a purely camera based phone which you desire then this is the one. An all round smartphone would be preferred by the masses whereby the experience is not solely based on camera but on its user interface, optimized app variety etc. I cannot stress how badly Nokia needs to work on developing these two main fields if it really is serious about competing in the smartphone market using Symbian.
