I am watching to see if a Sony phone specs out with the up coming 765 5G chipset.

    there is no hope for sony for this Industry
    maybe its time to close the mobile dept.
    and start to re-open a new dept. hoping
    for portable console gaming etc.

      Sony thank you for intreducing the phone of my dreams , 60 milimeters wide to hold with my tiny hand , better still than the xz1 compact , x compact and xz2 compact all with 65 milimeters wide not so bad , but the upcoming 60mm wide xperia is the ultimate one handed phone best in the world , thank you and thank you again Sony .

        Thank you very much, Samsung for starting the trend of phones looking ugly with that tiny hole. Makes me kinda appreciate the Pixel 4 design. -_-

          What's the point of buying Sony, Samsung, LG? After one year producer will abandon software updates anyway.

            I have tried S10 and P30 pro. Punch holes and water drops are not for my taste.
            And people have different tastes.

              Xperia and Note series and others are now placing the punch hole in the center.
              The one in the Centre is pretty awkward to look at

                lol, 23 Dec 2019so 4k OLED is not new? 21/9 display on smartphone is not ne... moreThat are just gimmicks. How is 4k oled on a 6" display a must have feature or important one? All of a sudden 1080p is bad? I have a 5.8" 720p phone and is not even oled and it's working great. I watch movies, youtube, web browsing with absolutely no problem, pixelation or eyes fatigue.
                And how 21/9 is a good feature? Is not even practical, it doesn't even fit in my pants properly.

                So yeah, Sony is innovating, but is innovating in the wrong categories.

                  Well as i know Sony the phone will be super expensive and not worth the money with plenty of useless add-ons like 120 hz screen tiny battery 120 hz refresh rate 5 or 10 W charging and plenty of bloatware in Sony UI.
                  Compared to all that Redmi K20 premium Realme X2 and many other phones cost as much as 1/4 of Sony pricing and doing same thing and rocking bigger batteries faster carging and equal quality.

                      You do realize that Sony came up with taller ratios before anyone else. Also waterproofing, 4k camera, slow-mo recording, and more.

                              On the other hand this patent is all about user interface, it's not a design patent for a device or any hardware. If you want to check out some Apple user interface patents you will see exact same story, UI drawn a top some non existent device and then there is a design patent for the actual hardware.

If you think Samsung or Huawei are better buy then yeah go ahead but don't say things that are not true.

                                  Looks too big - at least for my hands anyway.
