I would love to get an iPhone 11 with reduced price when the iPhone 12 will be released. For the time being my iPhone 8 Plus serves me perfectly well. I have never liked Android, it’s unnecessarily complicated, iOS strikes the right balance between features and simplicity. Moreover, there are better apps for the iPhone, the same apps on Android lacks features that the iOS version offers. That means I can do more on an iPhone than an Android.

I've thought for some time that the iPhone XR was an appealing buy.

You're right, people hardly take advantage of the gimmicks that manufacturers introduce. However, Apple are too restrictive, even WP was decent and that was a closed-source OS with MicroSD card support and emulators.

People comparing iPhones with Android phones should understand that iOS is a restrictive os that is a walled garden. You can do so much more on an android phone. Its comparing a semi smart is with a full fledged os that can run on computers.
Usb otg peripherals.. still cannot
Pointer support... Not there
Transferring files... An annoying experience due to the retrograde iTunes...
Emulators on IOS? Nope... No chance..
Removable storage.. blasphemy
Connecting generic gamepads, mice and styli to iPhones? Impossible.
Proper file system access? No can do
Browser with non WebKit engine? Not happening. Stick to WebKit browsers with cosmetic differences.
Installing non app store apps? Never gonna happen...
And many more..
Don't compare a crippled and lightweight os like iOS to a full featured os like Android.

You say you can't see pixels on XR display but I have seen its display fonts looked jagged and you say 1080p display drains battery I am hearing this one for the first time QHD display drains the battery for sure but not 1080p.
My Oneplus 6 with 3,300 Mah battery lasts 2 days comfortably and it has a 1080p display well this phone's stock camera is not great but installing GCAM solves that issue and I will be getting 3 major OS updates.
I am not an Apple hater in fact I like iPhone 11 pro but iOS closed ecosystem prevents me from buying iPhones and i feel XR is a waste of money I would rather buy a Samsung S10e if I want a compact phone.

Just read the review on this website also and nowhere it's mentioned it is average and it does mention how it excels in some areas.
If u name the best 3 android flagship phones then 1 will be better in some areas than the other 2. It doesn't mean the other 2 are average. Obviously u don't like iphones but others do

Whether it's faster at certain things or not, overall it still functions like a flagship phone should. It doesn't matter if other phones are faster at charging or wireless charging. It’s not, Apple have slow stylish transition animations, already that makes a difference when loading very light apps. Like i said opening those small apps can go either way, sometimes Android phones load them faster and sometimes it’s iPhone.
Also usually iPhone apps have more visual candy which takes more time to load, while Android versions are more simple visually.
Look this video where Mate 30 goes against pro max in game loading times https://youtu.be/1CX1L0_F7jk 6-2 won for iPhone. And app loading 5-6 to huawei. Just like i said, the more demanding the task is the better iPhone power shows, because CPU actually have to do something.

These devices are so fast already, so if you want to benefit the extra speed you need to do more demanding tasks, just like if you buy new PC and want to benefit from that

This is CPU on my Huawei running at standard speed - against the A12 which is supposed to be multiple times faster? On paper, it's fantastic - but check real world?
You must see what happens the CPU is running at full speed. It's quite embarresing having an A12 that can't keep up...
That XR gets 104 photo quality on DXOMark. That Huawei is 125. 104 may seem OK to you, but not to me :/

I didn't say the camera was bad? If you're happy, then that's all the matters? Same with the battery? If you think it's great, then who am I judge?
I'm just stating fact - but if it's 'good enough' for you, then great.
