The design will be a failure if it looks like the Pixel 4. I still prefer a notch, but it has to be shrinked and the bezels for the lower model reduced marginally (iPhone 11's bezel is TOO thick).

iPhone 11 is a good contender despite the notch, but for next year they really need to release a 100% notchless phone, otherwise they'll just look lazy. Given they don't churn out phones through entire year like the rest of manufacturers, they could easily allocate R&D and design to step up the innovation game in fields other than chipset where they are pretty much the best and have been for a while. Coz a notchless phone with full front display and no trickery with rotating and popup cameras would be a huge thing even if Oppo already showcased early prototype deisgns that sort of work. If Apple releases it first it would be a huge thing for them and might even be enough to convince me to upgrade my iPhone XR even though I plan on keeping it for longer otherwise.
