Nokia has to admit it as apple did, or there won't be any... moreActually, Apple never has admitted that their devices were problematic, otherwise there would've been a recall. Nokia is giving users the option of a recall here, or wait for the new update to come out to fix the problem.
Nokia is in a way different situation than Apple, Nokia has to keep their handsets in the user's hands otherwise their marketing push would be for nothing.
Nokia also has more than enough money to throw around now since they received that $200 million from Microsoft.

Nokia has to admit it as apple did, or there won't be any carrier willing to include their handsets on their contract line up. and that 's a big money to loose.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAH so much for it being AT&T's fault right? Even Nokia has came forward and admitted it was due to their error and is working on an issue to fix it.

Verbal_Criminal, 11 Apr 2012I work on another mobile carrier. Let me educate you how th... moreEvery network has two type of slots.
1. For calls and sms.
2. For data services.
We can make calls and sms in weak signal, but we can't do browse internet.
This is the fact.
Althotgh, it also happening with HTC Titan.
Let's see the global realease of the Lumia 900, then we will know the real story.

AnonD-46547, 10 Apr 2012As I've posted b4
I think it's an AT&T issue not No... moreI work on another mobile carrier. Let me educate you how the network works.
Mobile Internet uses GPRS settings to connect to the network. Each mobile phones are provided w/ WAP settings that includes APN(access point names). These APN are their ticket to the worldwideweb.
Now like say for example.... we have this Carrier *GSMARENA telco*
once you bought a phone from GSMARENA telco, regardless if your in a contract or not, and you want data services included, your phone will be pre-provisioned w/ these APNs:
ARENA INTERNET
ARENA MMS
ARENA CONNECT
ARENA BUSINESS
These APNs are Generic for all type of phones. it's, again, your Ticket to the WWW.
Now..aside from the APNs your phone will be configured w/ internet profiles provided by the PHONE manufacturers to GSMARENA Telco.
Notice if you call techsupport, ask what's the APN of your Nokia Lumia, what's the APN for samsung, for HTC, for LG. They are all the same regardless who your phone manufacturer is. The difference will be seen on internet profile settings.
so...APN is your ticket to the WEB, Internet profiles provided by the PHONE manufacturers to carriers serves as how will you go to the WEB(by plane, by boat, by car).
so for data connection loss for this lumia, it's nokia's fault. it will only be the carrier's fault if you have problems w/ outgoing/incoming calls/SMS. why? if you can't make calls, that means you have no reception, no reception means no 3G/2G signals to be used for outgoing services *including internet access. That is then...we can call it a network or carrier fault.
but on the articles above, was said that those customers CAN make calls and send SMSs. they have reception, they have 3G signals, now why the hell the phone uses to use the reception if it already has APNs provisioned?
INTERNET PROFILE SETTINGS for that handset. that's what's causing it. and who provides that? Nokia, why nokia? because they manufactured the lumias. what does AT&T knows about the hardware and software of those LUMIAS? only the basic.
it's understandable why it's always the carrier that's being blamed since the customers does not know those technical stuff...
For example...i have a friend working w/ Sprint, and they recieved a lot of cancellations and complaints about the iPhone's Antenna gate issue saying that it was the network's fault. It was only rectified when apple admitted that it was Apple's fault. if apple did not admit it...until now we say it's the carrier.

To one and all, whatever your preferences. GSMARENA are simply stating a fact that the handset, as shipped at present, suffers from a lack of data connectivity. That is a fact not an opinion. Additonally please point to the precise sentence where Nokia, AT&T or anyone else are being blamed.

As I've posted b4
I think it's an AT&T issue not Nokia's , i had similar issue with HTC Titan, had to hard reset before i get connectivity.
Try either of 2 choices
-Just go to market place and download network setup by nokia. that should fix it
-Remove the SIM card > Perform a Master Reset (Settings > About) > Boot up without the SIM card > Turn off the Lumia 900 > Verify that the SIM card is LTE-enabled > Insert SIM and boot up.

GSMARENA should know facts straight.. its not Nokia's fault but of AtnT. user's who bought HTC Titan with Atnt also faced the same issue. remember that Atnt has put in a carrier software stock in the phone's firmware.

blueglue, 10 Apr 2012Wrong! Lumia 900 has AMOLED display, thats it. Not Super A... moreSuper AMOLED is only a branding. And ClearBlack is just a polar filter on top of the AMOLED. But the AMOLED panels used both on Samsung Galaxy S II and Nokia Lumia 900 are virtually the same. Like I said, both are RGB matrix, same resolution and same size. And both are manufactured by Samsung so they can't be any different.

AnonD-27765, 10 Apr 2012The Nokia Lumia 900 has exactly the same screen as Samsung ... moreWrong!
Lumia 900 has AMOLED display, thats it. Not Super AMOLED, not Super AMOLED Plus. Theres aint any Comparision with GS2
Further more, Nokia uses CBD for their screens, as known, its proprietary of Nokia. Something Nokia has to comment.
Lastly, i dont know if the other guy was nitpicking or honest. but Lumia 800 had real good display , indoors and did well outdoors (GS2 outstands)
