How is the free market failing so spectacularly.
Why are people still purchasing phones that have ads?
Are consumers ignorant of exploration?
I fear with people still purchasing these ad supported devices this will be a trend that reaches most if not all manufacturers (just like Apple excluding chargers is now being implemented by multiple other brands)
Sigh, the poor purchasing decisions of consumers.

I have found out the issue regarding this one. In app market open it -> go to general -> Uninstall Apps -> there is one unnamed app uninstall it and this advertisement will be gone for good.

Bill G. , 02 Jan 2020I purchased a Realme phone recently, the X, and it took les... moreAs long as turning off these ads will guarantee that the phone stops stealing personal data from you but hey, Samsung is also doing it and Apple as well (but very minor). If you have the guts you can also unlock the bootloader and delete it (usually by rooting the device), but you'll risk your device warranty.
Anyway Realme is still more thoughtful than Xiaomi (Redmi Note 8 and below). But I will still go for the K20 with no ads at all.

CAU... moreYou mean data collection thing? Basically the thing that the whole smartphone industry does? Haha. Did these Chinese companies held you at gunpoint for you to buy their products? Didn't they put those and even elaborate on the matter in their terms and conditions? AGAIN it's as simple as this:
You don't like it? Then don't buy it.

I think this is a rubbish idea.
They can easily be Oneplus's competitor, focusing on User Experience, without the Oneplus' TV ads expense and all! They could've gone for good qudio quality, something I just kept suggesting all the time.
And now this.

DroidBoye, 02 Jan 2020With phones this cheap, why would anyone complain about ads... moreIn this case there should be this warning on the box:
CAUTION (please read before you buy):
1) This device is NOT our product. It is merely our means to create our product.
2) The purchaser of this device is our product.
3) Any advertiser on this device is our customer.
Now it's really EZ

DroidBoye, 02 Jan 2020With phones this cheap, why would anyone complain about ads... moreIt's that simple. Really. But the comment section here is like a crèche.
These companies could offer buyers the option to buy ad-free ones, for little extra cash—and that might balance things out—but I'd understand why they wouldn't want that much price confusion, especially when target buyers are mostly not well-versed.
India is a very competitive and saturated market, they got to do what they have to do, and unless you run such a big business or have a PhD in BA, you can't comment intelligently on this. You're not in that shoe.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2020What's wrong with that? It's better to earn money from ads ... moreU didn't understand my statement. I mean why do people blame Realme for putting ads on their UI while Xiaomi do it first on their MIUI and many people still buying Xiaomi mobile?

With phones this cheap, why would anyone complain about ads THAT CAN BE DISABLED? These companies were NOT A CHARITY you know and that's that only ways they recuperate money. They need profit to stay alive. Don't like it? Then don't buy it. EZ.

Ah, when you prioritise platform openness over user experience. You pay for a pathetic device to show you ads on your purchased phone. Android's anarchy at its finest.

i left MIUI (xiaomi) for this very reason, the ads! I cant swallow the fact that we, as consumers, are paying money to see ads. It's absurd, and this kind of practice should be strongly discouraged. As if we dont see enough ads from all 3rd party apps nowadays. It's not acceptable, and we should let the developers know. I'm sure soon all Chinese phones will follow suit, since it makes them loads of money. Sure, they say it can be turned OFF, but my experience with xiaomi (MIUI) is that you have to go deep into the settings of EACH individual app (ie. file manager, theme changer, image viewer, etc) to turn it off. They purposely make it hard to disable all of them in a single option.
