It should be Allscreen (side and top bezels match with the thinnest bottom bezel), notch with advanced selfie camera, 18:9 to 21:9, Multi Bayer >40MP camera, etc.
What they should be doing is to develop a way to miniaturize Sabre DAC while being way better than Quad DAC and yeah, use pull tabs on a battery.

Why dont LG just make an updated V30, with same size and weight, better camera and updated chipset. That would be a huge seller at the right price, and it would compete against Galaxy S10, Note10, Iphone 11 and so on. LG are you reading this? Come on!

LG's situation is similar to Sony. They both make good phones, but their phones don't sell due to poor marketing & overpricing (as per their current brand value).
They get that right, and they'll start making good sales again.

Sadly EU never got the W series so the choice is rather small here.
Too many people are unfair about LG it's notch, even while LG used it for gimmicks the technology inside is great, nobody complains about Pixel 4 it's notch (or lack of fingerprint scanner)
LG makes great phone for good prices, but the amount of time it takes to get updates is silly, even Motorola does is better.

I reckon that LG made the G8 series because not all countries have proper 5G network, and the V Series would now be a 5G phone. It used to be very simple before LG making a 5G phone: V Series for real flagship-grade device, G Series for LG's ultrawide camera tradition.
Mind you, I cannot see the point of the G8S since the G8 is basically a non-5G version of the V50 while the G8X continues the wide/ultrawide dual camera tradition since the G5. I can only see the G8S as a cheaper 1080p version of the G8 with different camera modules.

The only thing I disagree with this article is about LG G8s notch. It got wider, because had regular speaker, so it had better stereo setup. It selfie camera was combined with a TOF, and it had a 3D facial recognition, hand ID and air gestures.

LG's lineup is so terrible that while V50 is technically their best phone, the "least-worst" description would be more apt for that phone.

Regarding model G8s. Notch is wider but information about less functionality is not true. It has Hand ID, air gestures & also front ToF camera for 3D face unlock which works great.
