The Snapdragon 865 chipset is the obvious explanation.

These high scores are somewhat useless, the real life performance is what really counts, but that is only evident when users, after many users after sometime make their experiences public

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2020I do not know about xiaomi, but other chinese brands were a... moreYea if we don't know the test conditions then it's not a reliable conclusion. They could be in a subzero ambient room and score way higher than the phone could in realistic situations.

The scores has beaten the new iPhones

You say "The benchmark is the first to go above the 500,000 threshold", but the ROG Phone 2 received a score of 506832. If my maths is correct, that number is 6832 more than 500,000.

If you include Apple devices in this, the are 5 other devices that break the 500,000 point mark.

Not sure what you meant by the "first to go above" this mark, unless you mean it's the first Xiaomi device to peak over the 500k mark.

560K ??? Whoa, now that's is another level, GJ Xiaomi

I do not know about xiaomi, but other chinese brands were already caught using software to detect benchmark and prevent throttle to keep high score,
Something that does not happen during any other task such games or 4K recording.

i doubt that the up-coming mi 10 is the first phone to cross 500k antutu mark
vivo iqoo neo appeared in the top performing smartphones of december with 500k+ score on antutu
