This feature acts as an ND-filter for taking photos in bright sunlight and makes a wonderful tool for mobile photography.

We have a certain size of hands and they don't grow beyond a certain point.
Phones are made to be hand-held and single handed use was always a thing many people appreciated. And now it's dying thanks to some trends, that make using a phone uncomfortable, or require new software to be usable. That's creating a problem, then searching for a solution.
And a way forward should always mean bringing a better experience. Sealing a phone made waterproofing easier, so it's understandable, but removing headphone jack and this giant screen trend are not making anyone's life better.
Your "way forward" is like switching to a shittier job just because you got bored of the old one.

It's just that the trend has been to move away from 16:9 and the new aspect ratios aren't well supported at this moment.

Taller screens are the way forward and it takes some time to get used to it, but there's no going back, just like headphone jack, removable battery, polycarbonate shells in phones etc, despite whatever advantages they held.

Well looks cool but not for that price right now.
But i do believe that after few years this tech wont cost that much and it will be very usefull.

Oppo Reno camera design i though , not something new 🤔

mumbaikan, 09 Jan 2020I am using Motorola One Vision and i love 21:9 aspect ratio... moreIt's not only about the aspect ratio, but also the size of the screen. Moto One Vision with 6.3" screen is fairly small (considering 21:9), just 160 mm tall. But Xperia 1 with 6.5" screen is already 167 mm tall. Tall screens are unusable one-handed, just try to reach top corners and you'll see yourself.
OnePlus already makes huge screen phones, with 7T Pro being 6.6". I don't think the'll make the 21:9 phones smaller in diagonal.
Besides, 21:9 is good for nothing except movies. Other than that, most of YT is 16:9, web pages and other social media stuff you constantly need to scroll anyway, so there's no point. Maybe it could be good for VR, but mobile VR is already dying, even Google doesn't want to support it anymore.

I am using Motorola One Vision and i love 21:9 aspect ratio. Its user friendly.

I copied from the source: "As for the specifications, the Motorola Razr features a main Flex View p-OLED display of 6.2 inches. It carries support for 2142 x 876 pixels and a tall aspect ratio of 21:9. It can be accessed by unfolding the device."

The Motorola Razr is using 21:9 ratio.

I think different aspect ratios serve different purposes, but people (and companies) think of aspect ratios as a trend and not as a feature. Strange times.

I hate cars - and I hate this concept. Why have a concept if it does nothing new really? And I dont mean better cameras, we know every new phone will have better cameras, better SOC, better RAM and more screen from now on, nothing new here. Have a under display cam or another try on foldables, not this.

Oneplus have not shown any innovation on any of their actual phones so far and are probably the least innovative of the Chinese brands(maybe with the exception of Realme) . Until the 7pro each of there phones borrowed the design from their parent company Oppo. Maybe if they continue to grow they might actually be able to release a phone with something a bit different
