Anonymous, 14 Jan 2020>serious gamers >On mobile LOLTake Mobile legends. The game has 500 million downloads and 75 million active players and they play for hours on end. It's competitive and relies on teamwork. Just because it is on a small display doesn't mean that the players aren't serious.

It's not for me, but that doesn't discount it. I game on PC and console, but a lot less seriously than my spouse who games on smartphone.

This is getting ridiculous. It was bad enough that we got 120 hz on ... phones, we are now getting 144?

I can see it on bigger screens. They can be used for things like high end gaming, or content production , so every little of edge matters. Phones are literally useless for most of anything other than messaging, the screen is simply too tiny.

Those glorified message boxes are getting out of hand.

The only two extras they could well use is pro grade photo quality (using multiple cameras + software adjustments), and unending battery (basically swappable). You know, the two things are are not going to get.

              Instead we get gimmicks...

notafanboy, 13 Jan 2020who the hell needs this on a phone? WHO? And no, not "gamer... moreEveryone could use higher refresh rates. I own a OnePlus 7T. I don't game much on the phone but the general smoothness of the UI and while scrolling inside apps or even something as mundane as pulling down the notification shade feels so much smoother than on normal 60hz phones. Now, whenever i use any other 60hz display phones, it just feels horrible...

notafanboy, 13 Jan 2020who the hell needs this on a phone? WHO? And no, not "gamer... moreThere are a lot of serious gamers out there on their phones. I'm married to one. Same goes for my brother in-law and nephews. They game anytime they possibly can, on their phones.

Myself I prefer PC (a must for FPS for me) and console (most other types), but that's not for everyone.

I've got a 144Hz monitor for my PC, and my next TV will likely support 100-120Hz from consoles, so why shouldn't gamers on smartphone have the same option?

120 and 144hz makes sense. 120 being the most compatible with the majority of all content. I'll assume the option to switch refresh rates will be readily available as with other devices.

Misfit2Fields, 13 Jan 2020I really don't get the obsession with high refresh rate for... morethere is a reason why ROG phone 2 uses 120Hz, it has 6000mAh juice combined with stongest snapdragon at that time.

I've seen stuter on 120Hz K30 hands-on, and doubt 765G could handle 144Hz. also battery life. so yeah people misunderstood why refresh rate was popular when OP7Pro/ROG2.released, it fit with the device specs.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2020i dont understand the use of this when games are limited mo... morethere are a handful of games that can go as high as 120fps since 2017 when the razer phone 1 was launched. there were no frame interpolation either as the games had variable frame rate and the razer phone 1 and 2 is smart enough with its ultramotion engine to match the frame rate of the game with its refresh rate. i am now using as well the rog phone 2 and have installed the games recommended by razer when i still had the razer phone 1 and 2 to see if it works the same way with the rog phone 2, unfortunately i don't have the razer phones anymore to compare but it looks like the motion was better with the razer phones.

now, tvs were never 16:10; they were instead 16:9.

the device has NO notification LED at the moment!!! (or not active due to unknown issues)

I am a serious gamer on a smartphone. And I know plenty of people including real estate executives that will put there laptops aside to use there mobiles and have a serious session of call of duty.

The refresh rate is important. It is about the quality of the overall experience and impression.

144hz is exceptionally well balanced frequency. Everyone should be encouraging the tech industry and encouraging its ideas. And to positive. With higher refresh rates there is far less fatigue on the eyes. And helps towards concentration.

144hz is also has a more professional and quality experience suitable for those in professional trades.
