I really don't get the obsession with high refresh rate for screens. O.O

Love the Community, 13 Jan 2020"144Hz is pretty common among desktop gaming monitors – in ... more144Hz is just the max frequency DVI connections can handle at 1080p. It has nothing to do with "golden ratio of refresh rates" or "perfectly fluid" it is just a connection based limit and held to the date as a norm.
even though most people don't see a drastic diffrence the motion gets smoother the higher the frame rate no matter what it just doesn't make economical sense to buy a 360Hz display unless there is a real need.
it is like a hexagon fits better in a circle than a triangle. the finer you divide the "straight lines" or to be clear the linear interpolation of motion between frames the smoother seems the motion.

i dont understand the use of this when games are limited mostly to 30 fps. There are games that support 60 fps too but over that maybe few games only if even. Are these cpu/gpu already so good that they can run 120-144 fps fluid stable or will it be fake up scaling ?
There is always tech to support but none of the content that supports the tech. Like TV was 16:10 and then come along wide screen and even now a lot of movies are not on 19:10 but are like 23:10 os somthing like that so you still have black pars on top and bottoms so again why have a tech and then have the content where you full screen isnt used.

"144Hz is pretty common among desktop gaming monitors – in fact, it’s the lowest option usually"
75Hz is a thing. 144Hz is the golden ratio of hertz. It's perfectly fluid and smooth. Anywhere above that is a bit unnoticeable to the agnostic gamers who hasn't experience >165hz yet.
