The sensor on the 808 is 41MP. You can take pictures in upto 38MP mode. These are processed by a GPU. This particular GPU is the only mobile GPU on the market that can handle images of this size.

The 808 pure view is a unique phone. the technology behind the camera is mind blowing. it has a 41 megapixel camera that can shot pics of 38, 16, 8, 5, and 3 megapixels. utilizes a technology called over sampling, which removes the noises from the pics( down scaling). as a result you get a perfect image that you can zoom up to 3 x and more without any loss in the image. so Android fan boys this is pure genius. why have a phone with so much power and yet it won't get any future updates. just look at how long it toke for s2 to get a fragment ics . what a useless OS. Android is for people who don't know what they want. I love symbian its a great OS. it does everything I want. especially my privacy and Android suck in this area.

I have had nokia Symbian phones for more than 10 yrs, they run fine out of the box. N9 multitasking is great, smooth. So many reviews praising n9, other than dead OS comment. I also have an n9 and runs fine out of box,friends with S2 are impressed with it, surprisingly. You sure n9 is released in your country ? After n8, theres also the 700,701, for symbian phones.
On the other hand, the Android phones I've had are laggy if its not dual core, broken after 1 fall.

ok..as an owner of n8 i was expecting the new nokia cameraphone like crazy but this?ok, i can accept that is ugly and heavy,i don't even care that is symbian...but the most annoying thing is the screen res..360-640 on a 4 inch and in 2012?come on!!!no way..did i mention that is ugly?so i'll pass on this one..

Money now is In Asia, Nokia can make a lot of money, better sped up not late to release in Asia-Pacific before people lost interest and compettion of other than camera capability coming into the market, Iphone 5 and galaxy S3

Symbian's modular nature shows very well in this phone.
**Dedicated DSP chip integrated onto ti the camera module it self. A first in the industry.
**A very powerful GPU that can handle over a billion pixels/second during 1080p video recording. No android phone can match this, not even on quad core chip sets. Symbian does it on an old Arm 11.
**GPU powerful enough to do oversampling in real time for pictures and video, reduces noise in low light, improves image quality. Again, a first in the industry. No other phone can match this, or even has this technology.
so yes, for all this cutting edge technology.. you will pay. All the R&D money that went into this project.. they need some return on that. The amount of effort that went into bringing this tech to market.. RESPECT!
So.. take your fanboy anger somewhere else.

nokia 808 can beat all android's high end devices :-) but nokia belle os missing some applictions :( . nokia give only 10 applications to nokia belle it will rocks .

CPU 1.3 GHz ARM 11
That is all in GSMarena and nvidia doesn't support Symbian or WP ONLY Android and Chrome OS

Nokia 808 is not a 41MP or even 38MP, It has:
7152 x 5368 pixels camera while 8MP has 3264 x 2448
Take Nokia 808 Camera pixels 7152 x 5368 and divide ÷ it on 2:
(7152 x 5368)/2 = 3576 x 2684 that is it ONLY 3576 x 2684 which equals 8MP x 2 = "6528 x 4896"
So this PureView aka 808 nokia is a 16MP Camera ONLY not 41MP nor 38MP
And it doesn't have GPU!
