this is surely making the comeback of the long awaited nokia flagship phone. nokia...pls make sure u have your QC thorough check before shipping out those units. and yes, nokia marcom needs to squeeze whatever "ideas" for the advertising exercise "now"! dont lose to korean maker out there again.

I am sooooo sick of hearing people fly the flag for wp and symbian. I have absolutely nothing against nokia at all, I was a nokia fan for years but I am not so stubborn as to stick with a product that is in decline. I work in telco and nokia n97 and n8 together count for at least half our overall repairs and early life failure handsets we have recieved in the last 2-3 years!! That is even before you get to the os, thats just the hardware!! As for these phones running faster!?!? Not in my experience and I have had access to everything released over the last few years and that has most definately not been my experience, maybe because you have no apps to run and are terrified to multitask because you know its going to freeze or force close. As for the so called "tech" advantages of these phones L M F A O!!! I see people say that all you need is this hack or that hack to fix issues with the n8 or n9 etc. The point is a phone should work out of the box!!!!!! What is the point of hacking something and voiding your warranty so you can get it to work, I understand some would root phones and overclock them out of preference and thats fine. but not to make it run!!! Come on!!!

This is exactly the reason why IOS and Android beat Symbian. They provide for both General and "Techy" users. Be it apps or user interface.

Your friend must not be techy not to know tweaks for n8 belle... well too bad for him

Apart from shitty app integration it slows down as you add content to it. My friend has a Nokia N8 running Belle and I have used it. I guess I'm not wrong as Nokia chose to move to Windows as well. I am not hating on windows in support for Android or IOS but almost any non biased party will tell you both have a better OS in comparison to Symbian. I also did own Nokia phones before that and I have kept hearing the same IMPROVED SOFTWARE ! NO LAG ! MORE APPS ! but not really much more than advertising especially in Asia.

This phone is a technological marvel.. and it is a premium product, so no surprise on the price point.
As far as Windows Phone, yes.. it runs much better than android, its just that it lacks some functionality.. otherwise it is a better mobile OS overall.

Android will slow down once Windows Phone popularity is widespread. Android can't match Windows Phone's user experience. Lumia 900 is a good start for Nokia/Microsoft. I am still waiting for a Lumia with PureView.

Symbian is not dead. you'll get dead eventually but not Symbian, symbian wont stop working even after 10 years so was with windows 98.
Symbian version of pureview is for a different market and billions of Symbian fanatics. So if this one is not for you - dont say its dead, coz its not meant for you - you are not the only customer in this world to be pleased. Lumia will also get Pureview technology when apollo/windows 8 launched this year - its logical, coz Window 8 will give freedom to customize camera UI

so when you said android is dominating dont think in a galaxy note... think in a poor smartphone with a poor hardware.
in that case... i dont care who is dominating... i just want a company innovating in diferent aspetcs of the phone.
if you dont like that... well go for you crappy plastic phone :S

I get the camera is amazi... moreFunny.. it seems you dont know what u are talkign about... maybe u are talking of Symbian way back in 5800 or the first S^3 in n8.. u havent used belle yet...tsk.. its even faster than android my friend. with the Belle FP1 is more faster on a single core processor... nokia hasn't release the Nokia Carla and Donna yet but the OS is so smooth... watch youtube clips and you'll see.. even my friends who uses android and iphone now. they didnt know that Symbian has come this far with an amazing iteration of S^3 with Belle

[deleted post]Yeah but look at this then. Nokia Lumia 800 has been out in the UK since November and it is selling ok not great. Now I have no problem with Windows 7 phones or the Lumia series. If I wanted a windows phone it would be the only choice to get the Lumia.
It is Nokia I have the problem with and why they keep making poor phones like the 808 Pureview. Symbian is dead this phone should have had Windows 7 in it.
