Intel said it will produce processors with smaller TDP. Ivy Bridge notebook quad-core processors are still at 45W, maybe one will get 35W but not on April launch. Maybe they should focus more on power usage and heat dissipation like ARM, who cannot rely on cooling fans, and provide better user experience at the physical level. Since AMD is not providing options, I would like to see ARM developing the post-PC era and make Intel create good performance processors with low TDP. By now we should already have a 4-core i7 with 30W TDP on the notebook side.

well its true the main issue is the battery. 2 4 or 8 cores. its just they need to sort out the battery life. no good having a quad core. if only lasts a few hours.

Seems a lot of folk on gsmarena don't understand anything about mobile processor technology and just generalise about 4 cores lasting 15 mins. Go a do your research, then again, this site is still the hardcore haven for dumbphone users stuck with their old Nokia handsets who know no better.

mobility going smaller n smaller, soon we'lll see a processor which runs 32 cores, which will be faster than desktop or laptop computer, " ARM chip developers, may god be with you alwayssss " :)

Please do something about battery technology. This is great you have 4 cores but if the power is still at the time of the stone age then its still disaster. i'll never buy this. develop atleast that would last 3days of heavy usage then that satisfy me.if not its the same old story in this website and its terrible.

Hmmmmm. But i dont need this its only 4cores. What i need is an 8 cores or the one with multi-threads. Just like Core i7 perhaps.this is total failure to smart phone.it sucks

EQ, 17 Apr 2012Maybe this is what Samsung has been waiting for sgs3We wish, but definitely not - doesn't hit manufacturing till end of year
as for being in Apple A6 nah, apple will rather complain about how other companies are beating them through threats (which just proves they are weak) then man up and start catching up on their own accord

Wow mobile OS [small screen , limited apps , no dvd/bluray drive] is resource killer hahaha. my netbook with 1,8Ghz single core can run dualboot Windows 7 & Latest Ubuntu bluray drive without any problem :p

Yup, we don't need decacores or how many cores, just put the phone to run smoothly, hopefully Android will realize that.

qualcomm doesn't have a15 based soc's. Krair core is something like super cortex-a9, but not quite a15.

oujisan, 17 Apr 2012here i thought chipsets like the tegra 3 were going to kill... moreAgreed. Its a bloody phone, not a server we have in our pockets. I'd much rather is last a week on 1 charge like Nokia than have 4ghz quad-core cpu for god knows what... porn REALLY doesn't need that much processing power.

Qualcomm were supposed to release Quadcore processors by Q3 in 2012 . S4 Quadcore A15 chips were supposed to be out in Q3-Q4 . ARM have already released their chipset . But i guess i would wait until Qualcomm really joins the party with Quad A15 processors in Q3-Q4. Then the real competition would start ;)
