Leak: Huawei P40 Pro Premium will join P40 and P40 Pro, have 10x zoom camera

Also, this is the model with five cameras on the back that we've been seeing - the regular Huawei P40 will have "only" four cameras.

      So Samsung top of the line will carry ULTRA moniker while Huawei's counterpart will have PREMIUM in it's name. And then they want to tell us that Sony is irrelevant on the phone market by coming up with both of these suffixes :)

        Ice universe just leaked the sensors of the periscope cameras. Huawei seems to use the Imx 520 for its 240mm equivalent camera, which is allegedly the sensor of Pixel 4's selfie camera, a 12mm² sensor. Though it's possible that this is rather the sensor of the 125mm camera because the focal length and effective aperture diameter would be huge otherwise. I would rather expect an 8 mm² sensor. It's also possible that Huawei crops the 12mm² camera and that you get less than 8 effective megapixels.

                  That's wrong. According to Kuo, the 240mm camera will only have 8 megapixels. Optical zoom means that the resolution stays constant, otherwise you could say digital zoom = optical zoom with small sensor size and low megapixel count

                    Why tf is all phone going for square camera design?? No one ask for it

                      Instead of macro cam why don't they add autofocus to ultra wide camera and make the 5th camera a 3x telephoto cause imo there should be a middle ground 10x is too much for practical use

                          So this year they will propably launch p40 lite( midrange with kirin 810 competes with samsung a series) p40 (competitor to s20 and iphone 11) p40 pro(competes with iphone 11 pro and s20+) and p40 pro premium( competes with s20 ultra)

                            Oh great, yet another phone with lots of variants. I think I just stick with the standard P40, still cannot see any relevance with 3D ToF sensor at all. The dedicated macro camera is definitely out of the equation altogether.

                              Will be a great phone. But can't the (mostly Chinese) manufacturers come up with slightly more inspiring names? What's next, the P40 Pro Premium Gold Limited Porsche Edition Plus?

                                  Joker was right. "Is it just me or is it getting crazier out there? It's funny how smartphones became all about cameras. Samsung, Apple and Huawei only promote cameras. How about people like me who listen to music and watch movies on my phone? How about audio quality? Stereo speakers? No notch design? Signal reception? Battery life? All those things became not important. Just stupid God damn cameras. What a shame.

                                    Pro Max,Pro Premium,Ultra(though ultra sounds better than the other two),but seriously are these OEMs running out of sensible monikers

                                        Please no useless macro lens, add auto focus to the ultrawide please and there is your macro lens....

                                        I'll wait for real world testing but it's funny how quad quad Bayer acts like a 2mp hardware level dedicated low light camera (like in the TCL Plex and Lenovo z6pro)

                                        And yet still we are getting stupid macro lenses .....
