i hope that for those people who post here defending eait... moreLegal Battles are much more expensive then advertising my friend........all those cost for lawyers, work hour spend on evaluating the case.
Even if you win the law suit with compensation paid by the other party you may still in the reds by millions of dollars.
Negative publicity does not help a company to sell, people will most slightly just move away from the company instead.

Oh yeah. Well, all Apple ever could do was dish out lawsuits. Let's see what happens when Samsung gets pissed and stops making iPhone parts. Man, even the Retina display on the New iPad is Samsung's.

i hope that for those people who post here defending eaither apple or samsung would also post supporting links on their claim.
w/out any of that....all your comments are just assumptions.
anyways.. for me this is some public stunt by the two giants...helping each other to gain popularity, of course..this is just my assumption. SG3 is around the corner, iPhone5 is two steps behind it. This Legal battle only increases the hype for both devices that is yet to be release.
it might also be half real(legal battles) but the fact that they still do business w/ each other means this is no way a big deal for them. This can be settled amicably if they choose too. Of course..there are some areas that each side won't give up. but basically all this publicity amplifies their popularity,
it's like marketing w/out spending. you create a commotion, media thinks it's worth a dime to put it on the news, you get free live telecast and appearance to major networks, newspapers, magazine, sites etc. TOTALLY FREE
mind you...i'm an android fanboy... but i don't side w/ any of the companies...these patent wars are way to complicated to comment on...lot's of legal technicalities, Historical references, people involved and possibly might be invovlved that can change the course of the legal battles. Nothing is certain until a verdict is given. and even if there is already a verdict, pride would still continue on the story.

Samsung start making phones when Apple was just doing iMac after almost going bankrupt....What Apple does all these while is combining technologies which are available on the market, redesign the look and feel of it after that announce "Hey, we got something! oh Btw those loser who invented this did not file for patent so lets do it quick!". No doubt iPhone is designed well, however, it is always using proven technologies, 1st Smartphone is done by Nokia in the end 1990s, follow by Palm and Microsoft in 2000s, the first iPhone only appears a few years back using 2G network where everyone is on 3G. In order for a company to buy component from another company, the seller must have the technologies in the 1st place.......so I totally do not understand what Apple is saying here. Another things Samsung does makes stuff with good functionality, but the problem is never durability...so now we are looking at two mediocre company suing each other instead of spending time to improve....if this continue we can say bye bye to Apple and Samsung eventually....hope they realize before it is too late for them.

I think that you are missing the point. I doesn’t matter who makes the parts a copyright infringement is still against the law, but I think we would all like to see the end of these law suits. As for the Apple is better, Samsung/Android is better argument they both have good and bad points let’s just agree to disagree you guys really need to get a life it’s too short to be arguing about who’s phone is best!!

But the point of patents is that a technology that was invented by one company shud nt b used by another company (without licensing) to boost the sales of a product or obtain a techological advantage over the other companies. That is nt the case with the apple lawsuits. Apple has been suing samsung,htc,moto etc. Over really silly stupid patents like how the phone unlocks or how the scrolling n swiping works in photo gallery works or how the design of a phone resembles one of its phones (n many ppl rnt even convinced dat the design really luks the same). How do these small technologies help a phone gain fame. When apple gt the galaxy ace n s2 banned for 7 weeks in a few parts of europe over the photo gallery lawsuit, samsung just changed that, but did it result in any kind of a decline in the ace or s2 sales? No.If every company started suing the others over such petty patents then how will they progress? N another thing id like to point out is that apple's lawsuits r more concentrated in the courts of those countries where it has lost market share to android. Eg. Germany, france, austrailia. See? Apple is only displaying cowardice rather than fairly compete. I dont deny that apple's software is good (its harware is borrowed frm others). But apple's arrogance n the hazardous working conditions in its factories n the outrageously low wages that it pays to its workers is more than enough to make me hate it like hell!
