However the rapid pace of smartphone tech particularly this year is going to be big.
So why anyone wants a phone for so long? I honestly don't know... My sister's phone is so far out of date. It makes me cringe. She still wants to keep it even longer?
Realistically a new phone once a year or every two years should be enough.
Basically the iPhone 12 with its 120hz screen... Trying to catch up with android....
And its A14.... Will make bigger differences. Who on earth would want to keep an iPhone 11 pro max for more than one year. With a 60hz screen. The difference between and android 120hz screen and and iPhone screen smoothness is huge. Massive. The iPhone has enough issues with scrolling animations which are terrible. And so jerky.
The androids of 2019 September onwards.... Especially this Feb 2020 MWC is going to be so far forward... Way ahead of Apple in every way.

I have very good phone that needs to be recharget only about 4 times a week so abou every two days and still has original battery! Very nice phone... but no updates... I am really considering Apple next, because those phones does get updates desent time.

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2020did you actually see the third link? 1 out of 2 I posted sh... moreThere is videos on YouTube which puts rog 2 against Android phones and the results are lot worse than what you would expect from such a big battery. Rog 2 Chip is very power hungry or the screen.
Your link is unfair for iPhone, all of the phones have highest possible brightness and like you can see iPhone screen is a lot brighter in that video compared to others. Brightness level should be same, because brightness makes biggest impact for battery life. That has to be only explanation for your video, because there's same phones which Pro Max beated in many test videos.

So that loss rate is 50 percent I guess? it lost to phone with 4100 mah. There is a reason no youtuber has pitched any battery drain against rog 2.It would be de facto winner anyways

this one right here. Battery life is subjective to how device is used and absolute capacity, iphone finally got a 4000 maH battery and you guys act like it is next best thing since sliced bread....

Basically 85% went with cheaper editions of iPhones like iPhone 11, XR and older XS editions.... twitch the ARP $809 it is a good sales number but we don’t know the volume in numbers! As usual TC would play services-accessory-Mac game by introducing Air Pod Pro MBP to offset the dropping ARP in the mobile segment.... probably another record earnings! As expected low volume sale of their premium offerings! This will open opportunities for Android OEMs.

Well i haven't seen any and can't find any, all the phones which been put against Pro max has lost and there's been many phones.

These are better than most of those companies you have mentioned. Samsung is getting better. But the Chinese brands are on another level.

Would argue hardware capability is more important.
Many people are still rocking their Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat phone and not because they don't have money to get a new one.
