Anonymous, 27 Jan 2020So? Explains why they are failing? They can pull a media phone anytime... And it will rock the s#it out of everything out there.... But people around here don't deserve SONY. Too much hate for it! In the CrApple era where everything is default and ready to use...you cannnot succeed... Give apple users a music player with an equaliser aside.... They'll call it crap.... And the same comes in the camera department... starting with dxomark and going to the end user.... Nobody give a sweat to achieve.... Everyone expects " shot and process"-Dslr quality... Work your brain a bit... Why call a phone smart when you are not...?

That's why

I still have my K850 and if I remember well, it was the first phone to rock a 5 MP camera, just before the Nokia N95 came out, which I later had too. I still turn on my SE from time to time to shoot some pictures. That Xenon flash was lit and I don't know why no smartphone these days uses one. Another cool phone was the Motorola e398 which had a couple of amazing loudspeaker mounted on its sides including some dope lights. Music came out of those suckers loud, clear and having an amazing bass punch.

In that years, I reach to the W300, the clam shell cellphone, one of the best i had. I couldnt reach the w520, was to much for me. I my cell company, that years, the w300 cost me 300 USD, to realize, in argentina, with 300 USD you live for one month, living alone :'(

I lost my W800i, ironically in the snow, but it was the best SE phone I ever owned - no smartphone can match it's practicality, durability and simplicity.
I would probably buy it this or Nokia N95 again if it could be possible.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 202070% of Xperia are sold in JapanSo? Explains why they are failing?

I still have 3 of them. S700, T65, and Z520i. Too bad only the latter still working. S700 got drowned in a pool while T65 burned from battery malfunction. Quite impressed while Z520i since i've been using it for more than 10 years. Fell down on the floor and street for countless of time and the only thing i had to replace was the battery (perhaps because it's a flip and rather light-weight)

Me, 26 Jan 2020I wonder why nobody uses xenon flashes these days.Cost, size, and power consumption.

Xenon bulbs are inferior to LEDs in those three parameters.

Among the best phones to date. Solid in many aspects

Love the old school handsets of sony and nokia. They had style, design features I.e n, c and e series for nokia and Salman series etc for sony.

I had that phone; probably the biggest thrill I've had owning a phone ever! I felt like I was at the cutting edge of technology carrying around that thing; especially with its super-advanced camera for the time. I dropped it several months after getting it and I was crushed when it got a couple of scratches; gave it to my brother and got the W810, which I still have! Those were the golden days of Sony Ericsson.

Had 2 sony phones. First was the S710A "scissor" phone, and then the W800.
                            Great phones, worked very well.

Actually I owned a Sony-Ericsson phone, the W800. Liked the phone. Audio quality is pretty good for that time, soft-touch plastic is nice and the frame is possibly made of metal. Also could run some (maybe, demanding at that time) games on it.

I did own or should I say my brother loaned me the k750i and boy was it the best pre-smartphone I used in a time when the market was flooded with Nokia’s left right and centre, this made me want to switch to SE but I had the Nokia n92 and once I went to the bigger 2.8 inch screen with dvb-h tv I couldn’t go back, the k800 was what won me back to Sony Ericsson.

I had the K750i and it was a great device, very sturdy and the camera was amazing back in those days. Where most Samsung phones lacked expandable memory, the K750i had.

Being owner of both and so many others like these, I can't but help to forget the golden days.
