I'm a Moto user but hate shopping for a new phone. No problems with my z forces or other Moto phones in the past. Love that I've never cracked or shattered a screen over the years and prefer that over other features, but it's getting harder to find just a phone without a lot of features that I don't care to use! I like simple, sturdy, and 'droppable'! Motorola has always been my 'go to' phones, but it's getting difficult to find what I want, without all the extras and extra money. 😕

I've three force series phones and now I can't use any other phones since I'm so used to not handling my devices with care and it's really a convenience that no other brands can offer at any price point, unfortunately Motorola stopped these phones

I've rocked the Turbo 2 and Z2 Force as my last 2 phones, I still have both and they are still fully operational after beating the crap out of them. Without ShatterShield - why wouldn't I just go buy a Galaxy and run Google Launcher on it? The reason I have bought Moto phones for so long is Shattershield. Yes you need a cheap screen protector for scratches, but you'd put one on any other phone but it will still crack if you drop it. Come on Moto - a simple phone with a 8xx snapdragon, 6-8gb of ram and shattershield will sell.

You can hate all you want, but Zx Force owners know the truth. For all of its flaws and missteps, Motorola has largely delivered on its promises for modular phones. Has it been a perfect execution? No. Has it been worth it? Absolutely.

I've been a Z/Z2 Force user for almost three years now. It's given me pictures others have admired, stayed snappy quick, and been dropped haphazardly, without a full or even bumper case, well over a dozen times --- on linoleum, tile, wood, concrete, pavement, stone --- you name it. Body still looks great! No cracked screen. Phone still performs like a champ.

The mods are fantastic and work as promised. The JBL speaker, the battery mods, the style shells, the Hasselblad camera mod --- they're all very useful. I speaker is an every day pocket carry. I barely notice it until I need it. People ask me about it regularly and say how cool it is.

The Hasselblad stays in my glove compartment when I need that 10x optical Zoom. I've used it both in photo and video mode. It's very handy with a tripod. I've taken the microphones on the Z2 and the Hasselblad have been better --- louder and clearer --- than in videos I've seen from iPhones, Pixels, and even LGs, whose videos I've seen. And I like LG a lot.

A few weeks ago I used my Hasselblad mod to get closeups from balcony box seats of my daughter in a performance of The Nutcracker. The exposure was impressive on auto, and the manual controls came in very hand as well. I got dozens of beautiful, clear, well-lit pictures of my daughter that no other smartphone camera under 20MP could have even approached. I'll be enjoying theses photographs for decades!

Although I use the battery mods infrequently these days (I'm mostly in my car), when I had a 9-5 in a static location, but was mobile within a building, the battery mods were faithful daily companions. I still bring them along when I know I'm going to be outside for a day of activities.

Yea, I use a screen protector for the Z2 to take the scratches. Yes, I wish they'd develop more Moto mods. Yes, the style shells seem to be out of production. Yes, the Hasselblad clicks when the zoom is used. Nothing's perfect.

But I've got two style shells, two speaker mods, two battery mods, and the Hasselblad mod. If the Z5 has a Shattershield, I'm in! I would think Motorola was so cool if it supported its mod users with any Z phone two years past its original commitment of three. It looks like that might happen in the Z5.

Say what you want. Have your $1,000+, brittle Galaxies and iPhones. My caseless Z2 is a tool, not a piece of jewelry. I'm just not suffering. All in all, I'm pretty happy. Go Moto!

I have always liked Motorola devices especially the Z series. But it irks me that they do this Verizon exclusive crap. I know they eventually put out "unlocked" models but they usually lack something like limited LTE bands. Like the Z3, for example, I wanted this bad to supersede my aging Z2 Force but nooooooo, With the missing AT&T LTE bands, I could not use it where I was at. I finally gained some reprieve with the Z4 unlocked model. So far it's a decent phone but the mid range processor and RAM is not up to todays standards. Step it up MOTO!!

Seems that they have removed the jack, maybe even the sdcard. Their mid-rangers now comes with SD665, same old finger print sensor a who knows what premium prices they want people pay for that specs. Lenovorola in its essence. That flagship will be even more expensive that the P40 Pro and come with a joke of cameras against the ones from Huawei.

They will only get one Android update so who cares.

Motorola under Lenovo needs to release fewer phones and focus on Android One software support of 2 years of update plus a year of security patch.

And top this up with sane price tag ( I don't mean cheap but rather value for money)

That's all is required and it will be again back in competition. Indian market alone can bring it to decent market share.
