All three Samsung Galaxy S20 phones pass through Geekbench with S865 chips, 12GB of RAM

31 January 2020
We found both US and Korean models, but the ones bound for Europe - the ones expected to use Exynos - are yet to reach the Geekbench database.

Another pointless arguement. As the benchmark results are synthetic. And dont show the true performance. Try edit and render a 4k video. That will give real world scores. And they will get tweaked in the final version. So will guess more performance out of the exynos version.

Why don't you compare those tests?

Very big gap to gain from mali gpu they need to have the g77 with full cores and speed to match them but that won't happen

To scale the ps4 has 1940 gflops
        Xbox one 1400 glfops
        Ps5 probably be 12000gflop

Not quite sure what you mean by the second question though, since here we have only got the Exynos variants of S10.

P.S. If you're referring to the "at the same price" part of my comment, yeah maybe I shouldn't have said that since only one of two variants is available in each country. I didn't take the difference in GST into account as well.

"8 out of the 10 generations the exynos was overall superior"
That's a great way of saying "Exynos has been lagging behind Snapdragon for last 2 generations". Exynos 9810 sucked hard, 9820 and 9825 were underperforming compared to SD855 and 855+ as well, so am I being unreasonable for expecting Exynos 9830/990 to be inferiour to SD865?

And last year it wasn't even limited to sheer CPU/GPU performance where Exynos variants performed worse than the SD variants. The image quality was terrible (possibly due to the difference in ISP/sensor or both) on the former and so was the audio quality out of 3.5mm headphone jack. There's a high chance that I will get S20+ or S20 Ultra to replace my Exynos S10, and I'm really happy that Samsung will be putting Snapdragon SoC into them for where I live this time around. I'd love to test out a GCam port on the new Galaxy if I happen to get one.

This generation is going to be fairly evenly matched in CPU and probably gpu.
The Mali g77 gpu is a large upgrade. The only thing that would keep it from fully matching or surpassing the adreno 650 is using a low amount of cores.

And you do realize that the first 8 out of the 10 generations the exynos was overall superior right??

I'm waiting for these beasts to be announced and come to my country... Oh, and I really feel sorry for European people for only being able to get the underspec'd variants at the same price.

The three Galaxy S20 phones have taken their turn running Geekbench 5.1. The models headed to the South Korean and US markets, specifically, which are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 rather than a home-grown Samsung chipset (it seems that only European models will use Exynos 9830).
Even in their homeland they're using Snapdragon soc, so why Samsung your feefing us here in middle East with your Exynos soc.. i fckng hate it..

Can anyone tell me why Samsung abandon Exynos 990 although Exynos 990's single-core performance (much more important than multi-core performance) is higher than S865's?

Android supports 2 years minimum from manufacturers. Plenty of years further through xda.
So where is the bottleneck by hardware or software?

Infact it's iOS updates purposely slowing Down phone and battery on older Apple devices.
Apple pleaded guilty doing this as well.

Plus the latest Android has features currently that you'll get on iPhone in the year 2030.
Don't worry, iPhone users have gotten used to waiting for next year hoping the next iteration of the device comes with better HW/SW.
