I am gonna miss BB. At the peak of their smartphone sales, that was in 2011-2012, I got a BB Curve 8520 (I didn't bought actually, I won it in an online contest) and I loved it so much that after 2 years I got their next curve series iteration (Curve 9320) which was a massive disappointment. I think, after that, a couple of years later, their downfall started leading to complications in manufacturing as well as getting out of sync with the latest smartphone trends. Rest well BlackBerry, I will remember your journey.

I used many a Blackberry phone I liked them a lot sad to see them ending in handsets I was kind of hoping for more maybe just maybe leaving TCL they may have someone else do handsets I don't know. Blackberry was a good buisness tool good for email and web browsing I am sad they didn't keep with there buisness model approach.

QNX aka Blackberry 10 is an super secure OS, this could be an integration of the driver-less car features and Blackberry phones
TCL / Blackberry uses Google Android,
Android needs monthly security patches
If and that a big if Blackberry licences out QNX all phone maker could then bring out BB10 (QNX) version instead of the default Android
Huawei could escape the Trump / Google embargo as Blackberry is a Canadian company with servers located in Canada
Note Apps developers follow phone sales, there is NO third party apps being developed for BB10 atm as no BB10 phone are being sold
Pulling the plug now with TCL could make for as the article states an outsourced Blackberry device also
BB10 is more similar to Android than IOS,
BB10 / QNX features do NOT require security patches as Android does so you wont see Android OS in driver-less car ONLY GOOGLE MAPS

Atleast in eastern Europe.

I miss Blackberry phones. It was my first mobile phone. I had a BB pearl 8120 and I loved every moment of it.

Back in early 2013, I had purchased BB PlayBook for $500. Not an early adopter. It was really half-baked product (both in hardware and software). Then CEO, Thor, had promised to provide BB OS 10 update to PlayBook, but later take U turn with reason insufficient RAM (1GB). BB had abandoned it after 3 years and refused to unlock its bootloader for security reasons.
Later, from my office, I had opted for BB KeyOne. Back then it was something $650. Being a high-end phone, it lacks regular monthly security updates and OS updates from RIM. They were to arrogant and ignorant about customers’ demands and expectations. Over the years, they themselves had put them in this trouble. Hope, they can wind up their business ASAP.
