Is it OK to let your phone charge overnight?

In short, yes, you can leave your phone plugged in overnight. Today's phones are smart enough to be left plugged in overnight without damaging the battery. They have extra protection on the chips and in the software that stop the charging process when the battery reaches 100 percent, even if it's still plugged in

When a Xiaomi executive says how difficult a particular technology is he is actually telling you that Xiaomi is ready to deliver that technology. Still remember several days how a Xiaomi executive told the readers of his Weibo account how difficult the under-display camera was? Well, by reliable info, Xiaomi is ready to deliver both 100W charging and the under-display camera in a forthcoming smartphone. (No, not K30Pro, not Mi 10 Pro, but some other flagship phones, probably Mix 4.)

I'd be completely fine if my 5000mAh phone charges from 0 to 100 in an hour. 2 hours is understandable for such a huge battery. 30Min is nice but I'd rather have a long lasting battery keep it's capacity. So in my opinion. 1hour charging should be the medium standard.

Smile, 05 Feb 2020OMG!!! Do you really know what you are talking about??? Thi... moreThat's not the point, as said in article, with charging that fast battery comes to heat and lose power cells.

I think the point of anon is, in order to preserve battery life you can have some sort of charging selector on software or the moment you connect charger to the phone, to slow down quick charge while you're sleeping for instance.

Jobaz, 04 Feb 2020Absolutely.... I don't know why some folks are complaining.... more100% in 20 mins is awesome for battery that can handle it.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020Think he meant time it lasts, as opposed to charge. Anyway,... moreYeah a built in toggle in charger to toggle fast charging and slow charging

This has to be murder for battery longevity. Uneven rates of chemical reactions inside the cell during charging is a significant cause of wear and makes the battery more prone to exploding. Also, what is it used for? The only time that fast charging is useful to me is while traveling, and that's when I'm least likely to carry special accessories. A larger capacity battery would be more helpful than a faster charger.

Very soon Xiaomi will create a smartphone with so fast charging technology, so powerful that you could fill up your electric car using your phone charger ;-D

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020I'd prefer a 5000mAh battery with 30W charging. Why not both 5000mah and fast charging!!! Mi 10 is supposed to have around a 5000mah battery with 66W charging!

Anyway, I'd like to be able to set mine to vary the charge. So at night, stick it on while I sleep, can charge mega slow, 7hrs. I assume that would be the best use case for charging. Use 30W or whatever at times when I need. Top off
