LG Superfan, 04 Feb 2020A 6000mah battery with 30W will top up in 3-4 hours and its... moreYou can even plug your phone for 100 years. There is a cell protection on either the charging board or the battery itself to protect it from going over 4.3/4.35v which is the maximum charging voltage for 3.8/3.85v lipo battery. You can try it yourself by buying "Keweisis" or other type of usb multimeter. Once your phone is full 100%, your phone will not draw any power from the plug. Once the protection cuts off (below 4.3/4.35v), it will then kick back on the charging peocess for a while then turning it off again and so on and so on

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020More like two at most.Charging slows down after 50-70% so maybe 3hrs

Imagine charging your phone to 100% in 20mins, that's awesome... Most of the features we have now in smartphones weren't there like years ago, but we have them now.. So kudos to Mi.... This is awesome

Well i was a 20K mah battery of a size of 3k mAh battery with a 200W charging capacity and limits.
If we improve batteries this is pretty possible. All depends on material used.

I'll take 6000 mAh with 18W PD. I'll just charge it overnight as I won't run out during the day with a 6000 mAh cell

AnonD-804996, 04 Feb 2020Are all these fast charging technologies done through Power... moreMost are proprietary

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020Same here, like most people I charge my phone overnight so ... moreA 6000mah battery with 30W will top up in 3-4 hours and its not wise to charge your phone overnight

[deleted post]And your battery degrades in days

I will definitely prefer 5000mah with 30W charging its good enough for me and OEMs should make a switch on chargers which toggles fast charging on and off so you dont need to buy a seperate charger if you dont want fast charging

I'll take bigger batteries anytime over smaller one, regardless of fast charging. Bigger batteries allow me to use the phone longer without charging, plain and simple. Until you can top up to 50% in seconds (which is impossible), fast charging imo is just marketing. In the end, I'll charge my phones overnight anyway.

Does anyone know why no oems make a single battery consisting of say 4 x 1000mAh smaller batteries where each can be charged simultaneously therefore reducing charge time?

Eh i would rather see they spend the resources on creating battery with higher capacity, developing a semi thick phone with really big battery capacity. Anything above 40-60W is overkill.

I charge my 3500mAh battery overnight for 7 hours using a 500mA charger. As I never run it down completely it is always fully charged in the morning - job done

I am just waiting for the release of the ZTE Nubia Red Magic 5G. It has 80w Charging. This is thanks to the liquid cooling and air fan. Not only does the CPU/SoC stay at a constant 92% for hours of intensive gameplay... But also there are additional algorithms for the liquid and fan cooling to help stabilise the battery charging at only 80 watts. Obviously one of the slowest chargiers out there.

I will ALWAYS prefer bigger battery with 30W charging. It's so much better to have a battery that lasts longer on a single charge. This way, you charge less, thereby making the battery last longer. Look at the Oukitel K12. 10,000mAH battery and charges in LESS than 3 hours. That's a good 3 hours when you get home from work or something to fully top a battery made to last 2.5 days on a single charge. You know that battery will last a great while.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020So you are freaked out by a PC/laptop or console too right.... moreMost laptops charge at 45w, 65w or 30w. Some gaming laptops go up to 200w, but that's pretty much the limit, and it doesnt means that they charge fast, but rather, they need that power to keep their perfomance to the maximum while also charging the battery.

Battery capacity loss? Who said that people who don't embrace fast charging are fools? :v
