If there is one thing I despise the most, is the rise of mobile games. They havent add nothing to the mix, and instead, they have made low quality stuff popular with the masses.

Those infinite runners, all those clone look-alike games, those "strategy RPG" games, all of them do not even reach shovelware quality when compared to full releases on Consoles and PC.

But guess why they became popular: It was because they were free.

People have such low taste and lack of decency that they decide to bite anything that comes to them that is free. Even emulation is tons of times better than all those mobile games.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2020aside from portability privilage, what other factors that ... moreDon't look down on portability and ease of the games.

Auto questing, Auto loot, Free download, Auto Equip, Match 3,

Complexity hidden, no brain required. All attract the mass of casual players. Causal players do not weigh so much, its like entertainment, like going for a movie theater or shopping. The cost is small to them, and easily payable.

Things frowned upon by hardcore players and old games. Who spent $60 bucks and play the hell out of it for years to come. No causal hand holding, brutal to the casual players. Sure there is market for these people, but unfortunately, its stagnant.

If i spent 500$ on a mobile, I don't have more money to buy a console, pc, gaming laptop, etc.
I enjoy games in my free time on my mobile only then.

aside from portability privilage, what other
factors that makes human to spend more money
and play to a small screen gadget?
is it just me? or is it?

sad state of society, mobile gaming which enforces microtransactions to caught the causal gaming market into spending excessive amount of money, worse aspect, some console game publishers using similar tactics on paid full price games, notable, EA and Ubisoft are the worst.

no wonder, traditional home games market with sony and microsoft still relevant nowadays even though micortransactions earns more revenue however, this is a significant different market, nintendo is also competing well with mobile games with their switch

Is it even possible to fully own a game with all features? That is pretty sad how many in-app purchases you need to make to enjoy the game nowadays.
                      And ads....

Hopefully montly payment streaming services will take some profit away.

                          So...
Most revenue comes from shoving 30s ads down fools' throats between 2 min gameplay sessions and by shoving said fools loot boxes down their throats too.

Woo gaming is cool! Now if you'll excuse me I'll play fully paid games on my console like a dinosaur, with other games on my PC.
