Yea, €25mil will make them correct their ways. They won't notice that at all and carry on doing what they do. Making people upgrade earns them 10x that 'fine'. Pay €25mil to earn €200mil? Easy choice.

Nokia is worse then Apple as it tries to be like apple that lives more from it's brand name but Nokia is failing on that cause it's always late with new models to a time point there models hardware is already too old for there new models.

Perfectly justified. Apple should’ve informed customers properly.
Now if only Android has the same feature of showing the battery health of the phone. And no, info from most battery apps are fake or highly inaccurate.

apple deserves it !! apple makes old device slow down to force to buy new one . because they don't have better hardware than andriod recently . i become to hate apple . they don't repect users and not making worthy to buy , only making increasing price and nothing better .

€25 mil? A mouthful of spit compared to an ocean of bloodmoney Apple has in it's coffers, the stuff it acquired through lying, deception, cheating and strong arming it's customers and it's suppliers.
I wish it could have been 25 billion. Then perhaps, it could've made a difference.

A big part of Apple's business model has always been planned obsolesence. I'm pretty sure the do this with their iMacs also. I know lots of people who complain about how they get slower and slower over time. There is no good reason for this. Meanwhile, I have much older systems with much less powerful CPUs, running Linux and they are way faster. Same with Windows. I don't have an issue with Windows machines slowing down over time. Apple is just an abusive company, who has fooled it's customers into thinking their products are superior to everyone, because they come in shiney hardware.

Serves them right in my opinion.
If only they made it transparent there would be no issues, but they decided to hide it, which we all know is wrong. Giving people option to turn it off is a good thing.

apple's reason for slowing down old devices is seemingly plausible but it is not. yes, there is an option to turn off throttling but it comes toggled on by default. i have a brother who uses an iphone se as a secondary phone, also a cousin who uses my old iphone 4s, but according to both there is no noticeable difference at all in terms of battery stamina whether this "performance management" is toggled on or off. apple also says this is to prevent older phones from randomly shutting off, but this is not observed as well. both of them still has the original batteries the phones came with. there is noticeable decrease in performance though when it is toggled on, both said so much so that it becomes annoying so they'd rather just have it turned off. yes, of course, the battery charge indeed is no longer as it was when brand new, but still the fact remains that there is no noticeable difference in terms of battery stamina nor is there random shut off that apple is said to be preventing. i have read in some forums that this is the case for most iphone users, even those who claim to have badly decreased battery stamina.
i'm calling on users of old iphones here to test their devices themselves for this, because it really is bad for apple to do this- it is like mentally conditioning you that brand new iphones is the way to go every year.

I am still using it as secondary device.. and it hasn't slowed down at all. But even if apple does it to improve the longevity of the phone.. I won't mind the 2 extra seconds to open up a game or a split second delay in opening Facebook. i know time is money, then again, I am no Bill gates

Huawei in the other hand, fake new phones!!
If you ask me, this ruling is silly. Its optimization on old hardware.
But one good does happen, it make apple show it in the settings.
