Whatchasay, 26 Apr 2012Destroyed? Haha. Well I guess delusional will be delusion... moreOf course you wouldn't remember, you ran away with your tail between your legs after I gave irrefutable facts and explained into detail about my reply because it was too much information for your simple mind to fathom. Your only response was quoting what I put and after that you stopped replying even though the news was still at the front of the page, but sure, you "don't remember" how convenient right? Temporary amnesia.

"What's wrong with spending hundreds of dollars on a product and expecting it to work out of the box? Most people have more important things to do in their life than fidgeting around with their phones." that's directly taken from your response.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2012Yes, I am that anonymous that destroyed you in that debate.... moreDestroyed? Haha. Well I guess delusional will be delusional. I barely remember what we were talking about, but I guess for you that was the highlight of your day. The main thing i remember is that you are so emotionally invested in an os that it affected your reading ability. Where did i agree with the other guy about Android not working out of the box? No really. Where. I'm not a fanboy like you. I don't care all that much about these silly little arguments.

Whatchasay, 26 Apr 2012Oh yeah. I think I remember you now. You were the guy who... moreYes, I am that anonymous that destroyed you in that debate. After your weak attempt at any rebuttal by simply copying and pasting you left to never reply. My problem is not with the anonymous user who said that, because quite frankly he is ignorant as well. My bone to pick is with you actually agreeing upon his remark and with a response, implying that although android devices need work, Nokia devices do not, in which I gave you a perfectly sound response.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2012Why the need to register or use a name if my IP is constant... moreOh yeah. I think I remember you now. You were the guy who had the reading problem. It's so hard to remember who is who with all these anonymous people around. Well if you go back and read the comment stream you will see that it was your fellow anonymous Android supporter who said that people shouldn't expect their phones to work out of the box. If you think that's incorrect, take it up with him.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2012shhh... someone should tell you, it's WP7.5 now ;) 7.0, and... moreYeah! 7.0 to 7.1 is minor update. Like android 2.3.4 to 2.3.6. (but nothing so much difference).
WP 7.5 is also not at all a major update. WP 8 will be the major update. So wait, till it comes. WP is just only 1 year but Android is more than 5 years. Android is great, but still not stable.

Karz, 25 Apr 2012The issue u mentioned, all are fixed by updates of Nokia. A... moreshhh... someone should tell you, it's WP7.5 now ;) 7.0, and then WP7.1(NODO) have been out. It's also been more than a year since the introduction of WP7, also WP7 is released by microsoft, a company more familiar with Mobile OS than Google was at launch ;)

Rob, 25 Apr 2012The quite simple rebuttal is that although Nokia might have... moreThe rebuttal may be simple; however it is not relevant to the question I asked? I asked what Android devices, flag ships in particular required work out of the box to be usable?

I have no idea why you brought apple into this, but since you did lets take a look at it.

Apple's situation is quite different from Nokia's.

It is comparing apple to oranges, no pun intended.

First off with Apple's problem it was a hardware defect, not a problem with the OS or firmware or drivers related. Apple couldn't simply send an update OTA to fix the problem that was with insulation. Secondly, APPLE did fix the problem promptly, they offered a FREE case bumper for the Iphone 4 which remedied the problem by insulating the antenna from noise interface of the human body, you could redeem your bumper case either online or in store, free of charge; the only thing Apple didn't do was ADMIT fault as that would've brought on a different legal mess, they would've had to issue a recall and the loss would've been huge considering how many iphone 4 were sold.

Whatchasay, 25 Apr 2012Who said Android devices don't work out of the box? As for... moreWhy the need to register or use a name if my IP is constantly being linked to my gateway? My IP mask will always show up as either kegR or JAGb, this will never change so the need for a user name is not relevant.

Who said android users have to work for anything out of the box to have a usable device? The only thing i feel android users have to do is root if they really did not want to wait for manufacturer released OS updates.

AnonD-24171, 25 Apr 2012You are wrong 100% Why you Nokia fanboys keep telling this... moreI agree with u. Android needs dual core, for gaming. WP8 will also support multi core. So that time HD games will be also available for WP. But Android still lag with a dual core, i am owner of GS2. I also have Iphone 4S, but it didn't lag, bcoz it is more stable than android. Yeah, may be so many apps are free in play store, but Apple app store have more quality apps than Android.
WP is like iOS.(even better) It's so smooth, fluid and stable. Just have some flaws. Hope MS will recover it in WP8.

And since when is rooting a phone such an invaluable "skill?" Any numbskull with an internet connection can learn how to do it. A mechanic has skills. A welder has skills. An accountant has skills. Someone who can root a phone has a hobby. Like I said before, most consumers have more important things to do than worry about their phone. Take the fanboy goggles off and put down that kool-aid and you'll see that I haven't said anything about Android or WP7. Products should work out of the box. That's the statement I'm addressing.

Of course, I guess in your next post you're going to bring up something about lag again.

As for the Lumias... um that's my point. According to the other guy, that's not a problem. We, as the consumer, should have to "work for it." If the producer was slack and didn't test their product enough, then tough luck for the consumer. We should have to go use google to fix their mistakes.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2012Android devices don't work out of the box? Dang someone sho... moreThe quite simple rebuttal is that although Nokia might have had teething problems, they've been honest, proactive and quick with their solutions. Compare this to Apple who generally drag their heals with acknowledgement of problems, blame their customers first for using the device wrong before offering a simple but half-baked solution...after a long time, make devices that shatter very easily and so on.

Nokia might not be perfect, but neither are Apple. At least Nokia's treated their customers like intelligent human beings, rather than Apple who treats their customers like rich idiots who are more than happy to slap down their credit card for a somewhat hardware limited deviced once you look beyond the screen and processor.

Why you Nokia fanboys keep telling this lame story?
I know 1 GHZ can run any phone perfectly as 2GHZ runs Windows XP perfectly
Dual and quad core for better game performance as you see there are no HD games for WP because it doesn't come with dual core so 100% will lag on WP eg. ShadowGun GTAIII
And most of all 1080P movies require dual core
Multitasking needs dual core "WP doesn't have multitasking"
Encoding process mostly depends on powerful CPU dual and quad core
...So do you get it why we need dual and quad core?

Nokia devices work right out of the box?

Lumia 710 = issues with end calls in which the phone disconnects with the call however the calling app still is on.

Lumia 900 = Data connection issues right from the box.

So much for the beta test on smartphones being over with the introduction of the Nokia Lumia devices right?
