Can honestly say I am going to eat my words, first time ever regarding phones....
I now have a Lumia 710, and despite battery longevity love the device. Ok, windows may have a lot missing....still finding more each day, like the browser...having no file manager in Lumia, I cannot upload a picture to the web!
Faults aside, can only say that the 900 must be a joy to own if like 710.
I see only four phones....Apple iPhone 4s, Xperia S, Lumia 900 and Galaxy S2 worth owning today....was going to add the HTC one X......good on paper but not sure I would want it!

Browsing the web and sending off emails will not require the 4 cores, you'd be using the companion core for those functions. How about taking a look at anandtech's power consumption and seeing that the Sensation 4G, the Droid RAZR(NOT MAXX), and Galaxy Nexus outlast Nokia N8, Lumia 710, and Lumia 800 when it comes to cellular 3G calling(calling over cell network), and 3G Web Browsing(browsing web over either HSPA+ or HSPA)? This is despite the fact that these android devices sport a much larger screen, run more power consuming components(Dual core vs single core), and have a higher pixel count meaning the GPU is taxed more than your nokia devices?

right lets put this argument to bed. its not the ghz or dual or quad core, cpu's that matters. i have a lumia 800, and guess what its fast. when i tested it against a iphone 4s. there no significant speed difference to mention. so as far as i am concerned the dual core chip makes no difference. so next time where 1.6 ghz quad core. with gigs of ram. just think yes numbers are not all that matters.

BHP sells cars, Torque wins races... same thing here with all those dummies suggesting that higher specs make something better - no true, just easier to sell to consumers who think bigger numbers are better!
The reason why specs don't need to be as high is because WP needs much less power to run than Android.
Lets see how your battery lasts with quad core... idiots

hey guys,you just cant compare wps and androids at all.each of them are best at their own perspective.Nokia devices are rather tough than can be considered as a smartphone.It lacks a lot of features one of dem is that u cant make a video call with skype,at least thats a very important feature to me.I have the lumia 800 and its extremely smooth,elegant design and the OS is fun to work with as it is based on integration of social networking systems but doesnt support download from 3rd party sites,and I dnt knw any hacks.Its very annoying sometimes but U can come across it if u bother to use ur pc.Androids are extremely fast not tough,plastic build apart from the fact that HTC one X has been made of poly carbonate as same as the lumia is.smoother gaming,hi res grapics and modification of phone is not a harmful thing to want.so android are really great,its just that some people are too foolish to understand its invulnerability and the put the blame of them nt having the features on the fans of android.I am an android fan actually,nd i use sg note.thank you and no offence
