Absolutely not they are using old periscope lens design of Huawei P30 and Oppo Reno but with higher megapixel which gives them privilege of extra cropping in without loosing much details a hybrid 10x! wait for the new periscope design(pill shaped) of Huawei P40 which will introduce authentic 10x zoom about 240mm

I remember to read that the 10x was not ready when Samsung got the module.
Company was still working on the 10x, and they said P40 Pro may be first to use.
But huawei may keep the 8MP 1/4" to avoid huge size.
Samsung has 1/2" , it is 8mm diagonal just the sensor. There is the space issue to be considered. It is the reason the bump is 1,3mm making the phone 10,1 mm ....

A $300-$450 premium over Note 10+ and only 128GB. The S20 series are so ridiculously priced I recommend everyone to buy S10/Note 10 at half the price. Samsung is really out of its mind thinking Huawei ban means it have no competition.

Huawei P40 series going to destroy this piece of toy camera! So much hype but fall flat as usual although without proper software support P40 will not be as all rounder as S20 but the main aspect camera will be way better I guess, not just such an incremental megapixel update but a high quality custom Sony sensor and a true 10x optical zooom with beter 100x zoom results i hope

Even though that wouldn't stop me from buying either, should I be able to afford them (the V50 isn't even available in my country, for some reason). Nova being written all over the back of some Huawei Nova phones is really not for me though.

P40 Pro may keep the 8MP 1/4" to use the 10x the wide.
