Nokia 808 PureView and Samsung Galaxy Nexus get imaging awards

oh GsmArena, with so much knowledge of mobile devices and technology surely you know that more megapixels does NOT equal better pictures? The Pureview is a special case, but if you really think that an image taken with a 12MP camera will better than one taken on a 5MP camera purely because of the higher pixel number... well you really arent that clever after all

Samsung Galaxy Nexus getting an imaging award is a bad joke. Must be money talking.
Nokia 808 is the undisputed king of the mobile cameras. It's way better than the dedicated pocket cameras. There's no need and point to buy a pocket camera anymore. In fact there was already very little need to buy a pocket camera after N8. The only advantage that a pocket camera had was zoom. Now with 808 even that advantage is gone.

Both device are great but a favor more on nokia 808 because it has already won two awards,the quality of the hardware are durable and superb.And they are pioneering in terms of phone imaging.Congratulations Nokia 808.

Samsung Fanboy Pro, 25 Apr 2012Who cares about cameras?Only nokia fanboys by the look of it.Almost all people who take photos and especially the visually talented creative people. Creativity or at least visual creativity must be an alien concept to Samsung Fanboy Pro.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and the Imaging and video Quailty on the screen and uploading onto the likes of FB is perfect no faults i would say its one of the best Ive seen. Just because it has a 5MP camera doesnt mean it cant compete with 8MP Cameraphones.

Im going to say this again.... 5MP or 8MP If your not printing the Picture off then there isnt any difference. The quality of the photo will depend on the software and Hardware combination. A series of Tests are completed before the awards are given and if they where bought then surely they would of said Iphone not Galaxy Nexus. An people were complaining about the Nexus only having a 5MP camera in it. Well enjoy reading cos i stumped your 8 and 12 MP Camera Phones :)

The PureView 808 is a no brainer to win an award like this. But the Nexus???? Can they not allow the N8 to be judged here? Its STILL the king of the camera phones with the best image quality on any mobile device. There is no way the Nexus is king over the N8. Absolutely no way.
