TSMC will still make chips for Nvidia, AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, etc. TSMC also makes Kirin processors for Huawei/HiSilicon so Trump wants them to stop that only.

In the end what they are achieving with the bans is that they are forcing Huawei to innovate and become less dependent on US tech.
Huawei is already developing an alternative to Google services and soon they will built their own chip foundry (as Samsung already has).
If more Chinese companies follow this path (they might be forced to) US will be the one who loses in this game.

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Perhaps time the US gets a competitor also among machines to manufacture chips. But thought the Dutch made those machines.

Well, nothing is lost since it is Huawei the one who is getting affected. As long as Xiaomi stands free, you guys shouldnt worry about this.

Up next:
"US Bans Huawei from using US-made hammers."
This is beyond ridiculous.
Well at least this can be fixed, TSMC just has to get their manufacturing equipment elsewhere. Huawei makes plenty of chips, that investment would definitely be worth it. Losers would be the US suppliers.
