What's funny is all these ppl complain about the bezel being huge when it's not huge at all. If you look at the video the bottom bezel is about the size of the xperia 1 bezel. Of course haters will talk crap. It doesn't matter bout the chip or ram it's optimization. This is the entry level phone not midrange not flagship. Don't compare to xa2 compare to l2

In conclusion a Sony Xperia XA2 released exactly two years ago does everything better, with better aluminium finishes, a better FullHD screen, a better proc (SD630/Adreno 508), easier to use with one hand, without notch and really free.

If this L4 at $150 pricing segment, Redmi Note 8 & Realme 3 Pro says hi.
Just look at its specs, L4 is a lot worst for the buck. Spend your money to $200, it'll leave this L4 to dust.
I love Sony as a whole company, but they killing their own mobile department.

The top bezel is so thick they didn't even need a notch to house the camera.

I have to agree that the bezels should be symmetric. It's a shame that Sony still uses 8mp for their selfie cam. It should be at least 24mp due to the notch. I better wait for the xperia 5 successor but my heart should always be for the compact phones. Hope sony compact will make a comeback.

Why not try to provide the best experience possible? In their place I would reuse an old box like Apple does, and invest in components with at least a Snapdragon 710 to maintain a certain brand image. Degrading the quality of the jack plug compared to the L2 is also incomprehensible. If I had to advise an entry-level smartphone I would point to the Realme 3 Pro which should be sold at the same price as this Sony L4 .

It seems on the blue color render they accidentally made the notch more blue when changing what the screen shows. Well, we know it's just a black notch and not a blue one (or an in-display)

A 6.2-inch screen with such a resolution is also stupid.

With these specs,the price should be around 150$.
But, knowing that people at Sony have thieir own weird logic, the price will be around 250$, and ofcourse it will fail because the competition offers a lot more value for same amonut of money. Each year,same scenario.

It's a carrier free phone. What's interesting is that with some carriers L is the only Sony phone they have, no XA, no 10 and no flagships but Lx is always listed

amir, 20 Feb 2020there is no need for such odd aspect ratios, world plz. ju... morewhen sony announced its 21:9 aspect ratio phone, most of the other brands were doing phones with 18:9 ratio. now most of the flagships are 19.5:9 or 20:9, getting even closer to the cinematic aspect ratio. If they do it, it means there is support from consumers for more elongated form factors; being able to see more in portrait mode. so your argument that it is an odd ratio doesnt stand. so many sony haters being like: ohhh this and that is a gimmick but when other companies do it then its: omg i want the phone... loads of innovation *roll eyes*. I do agree that sometimes sony implementation of such technologies are off but the basis parameters/specs are still there.
