See European courthouse decision!

Each time someone released a good soc, Qualcomm user the money they earn with patents to sell their counterpart with loss.

They make 600% profits on standard patents OEM are forced to buy them because it's standard.
And reduced soc's price. Profits on soc are under 15%...(2016's results)
Some soc were sold with loss

With that anti competitive système, not only they killed mt6595, Helio X30 or G90 sales...
But they destroy Intel Z3560 and Z3580
They destroy Tegra 4i...

Now with 5g, Qualcomm want mmWave to be a standard even if this isn't able to go through walls or a simple row of trees because only they have patents.

In past Qualcomm try to but NXP for NFC patents and we, europeans, were too stupid to see patents monopoly on this technology...
Thanks god, China cancelled the operation.

Qualcomm is dangerous.
OEM should boycott until they respect FRAND.
Medias should inform properly customers (go on YouTube and look for Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro reviews...sadly 3 Pro with SD765 represents 90% of the answers when Dimensity 1000L on Reno 3 destroys it)

Qualcomm even infiltrate their former lawers in USA's district of justice.

Post time Mediatek's are as good as Qualcomm's counterparts like P60 vs SD660...
Exception is emulators...devs prefers support monopoly and don't care about Mali or Powervr

It might be their own fault if Qualcomm has monopoly now.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 has about 575 000 Antutu score
So QS 865 is 15% more powerful than QS 855+ but this far isn't much more - actually it's disappointing. I am 100% sure that there will be practically no difference between using the first one or the second one even on heavy operations like multitasking, gaming, etc...
If QS 865 was made on 6nm or even 5nm architecture it would be significantly faster, more power efficient and a real game changer!

The cost-premium for 5G smartphones is disappearing. A good benchmark is Redmi 30 series. In its base configuration, you have Redmi30 ($240) vs Redmi30-5G ($280). For merely $40, you get 5G and a vastly superior SoC, SD765G. With SD765G, you get better cpu, better gpu, better modem, better thermal efficiency, better AI, better ISP, better everything. (Please note: SD765G >> SD730G > SD730.)

It may very well be a trend in the coming months to see a 5G smartphone priced lower for a 5G market than a 4G equivalent smartphone priced for a 4G market.

For 2020, the smartphone world has shifted its focus from 4G to 5G, for both phone-makers and chip companies. The phone-makers start their designs with 5G focus, and it will cost them extra to create a 4G equivalent of their 5G-focused phones. It will be difficult for a phone-maker to find a proper new chip to start designing a 4G-focused smartphone for 2020, because all the new interesting chips are designed for 5G smartphones. Even SD865 is basically designed to come with X55 Modem. It costs phone-makers nothing to add x55 modem to a SD865 phone, except for the extra space needed and slightly reduced thermal efficiency. Qualcomm charges virtually nothing for x55 Modem if used on SD865 based smartphones. For Samsung flagship phones, the default chipset will be Exynos 990 and Exynos Modem 5123. There may be cost-incentives for Samsung to offer 4G only S20 series based on Exynos 990 (without Modem 5123), but you will end up with an Exynos 990 based smartphone, if you don't mind.
