The IMX 555 is a 1/1.76" sensor with 1.8 micron pixel size.
Same sensor used in the upcoming Xperia 1 successor.
Huawei p40 pro using IMX 700 which is a 1/1.33" sensor with 1.12 micron pixel size.

S20 Ultra camera is looking really good in a recent comparison on YouTube against the iPhone pro max. I feel bad for Huawei employees. They won't be allowed to go home or get any sleep until their cameras are on an even playing field.

Not really impressed by the images. The main camera's detail is great but you can still see ghosting in the night mode and night mode needs to dial down the HDR. Night sky shouldn't be grey

The persicope has s... moreAt 135mm (not 125mm) Huawei uses a sensor area of approximately 10mm² with 6.9 megapixels.
At 135mm Samsung uses a sensor area of 18mm² with approximately 7.0 megapixels.
So regarding the specs Samsung's periscope camera is actually better than Huawei's periscope camera and should deliver a much higher quality at 103mm.
Samsung's Quad Bayer sensor actually has 48 megapixels, but the flickr sample images strongly suggest that Samsung uses hardware pixel binning before they crop, so apparently it's just a 12 megapixel sensor effectively.

The persicope has some physical limitations.
As it gets longer, you need to decrease sensor size. Unless they make a 3mm bump.
Huawei uses 8MP 1/4" that has about 8mm2.
While the 48MP 1/2" has something like 30mm2.

This seems to be the best camera phone to date.
Lots of hate from fans of other brands but it is what it is.....
I guess on 24th Sony may reveal something better and a month later Huaweii may do so too. Yet now S20 Ultra is the king

professional photographers who work with Canon and
Nikon, and were not for ridiculous people, who take
"photos" with phones !
